WBC: Vitali fight your mandatory!
The WBC Board of Governors has rejected a request for an exception by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and voted to force Vitali to face the winner of the August 13 Hasim Rahman vs Monte Barrett clash unless a step-aside agreement can be reached. It was announced earlier this week that Klitschko had an agreement in principle to face Calvin Brock on HBO September 24. IF the respective camps can arrange a step-aside deal, the WBC has stipulated Klitschko can make a voluntary defense on September 24 as long as the winner faces the winner of Rahman-Barrett no later than December 2005. IF no step-aside agreement is reached, the Rahman-Barrett winner must be ready and medically approved to fight Klitschko within 6-8 weeks of their August 13 bout. The situation came about after Klitschko-Rahman mandatory bouts had previously been scheduled and postponed three different times (April 30, June 18 and July 23) due to Klitschko injuries. Promoter Don King successfully petitioned the WBC to allow Rahman to face Barrett for the organization's interim title. If the Rahman-Barrett winner allows Klitschko to fight Brock in September, the purse split for the December showdown would be 55-45% in the champion's favor. If the Rahman-Barrett winner demands Klitschko to make his mandatory with no interim fight, the split will be 65-35% for Vitali. Rahman vs Barrett can be seen on Showtime PPV on August 13.
so rahman and barret have to say its ok for vitlai to fight calvin if there not ready on sept 24, or if they are nto ready on sept 24 they can make vitali wait till november? thats bullshit, if they cant fight sept 24 then they should wait till december and vitali should get a fight in,
....I told you he was gonna get staled and made more inactive. Watch and see. Some mysterious medical ailment is gonna spring up for the winner of Rahman/Barret pushing the fight back to at least December.
what are u gonna say bout Vitali when he beats rahman-barret winner?????
If he beats Rahman, he's elevated to John Ruiz status, and if he beats Barrett he's up there with Joe Mesi.

That's the WBC's decision, not yours.
:D
/\/\/\ If Barrett fights anything like he did with Wlad then he will get destroyed by Vitaly. Wlad tottaly humiliated Monte. But that was 5 years ago....
oh hell ye, he slaughtered him. I do belive that barret could beat rahman...
Either way Klitschko's time is up.
hahahahaha u are an idiot, I cant wait for Klitschko to fight one of these bums so u will shut the hell up, what are u gonna say bout Vitali when he beats rahman-barret winner?????
Now Rahman will have more motivation than ever to KO Barrett and Klitschko. This is gonna be GREAT
rahman sux ass and will get his ass knocked out by barret because hes overlooking him and he will no be prepared for bareet...

rahman doesn't deserve this fight because the only person hes beaten in the last few years who is decent is kali meehan
im glad klitschko will get to knock him out n hopefully end his terribly lucky career... hopefully he's ready on the 24th
Can somebody tell me why Rock does not deserve this fight? He lost to a hugging Ruiz ok. His draw against Tua was plain bullshit. He lost to Holyfield because of a headbutt that caused a horrible lump above his eye. The only true losses I can think of are against two champs: Lewis and Ruiz.
on boingtalk.com they have that news that Vitali will be facing the winner between the two bums. The biggest dispute that Vitali had was the purse King wanted a more even purse that what Vitali wanted. The WBC said the fight will take place with Vitali getting 65 percent of the purse with Rahman getting 35.
There's already a bunch of threads on this.
Oh wait, you already know that because you've posted on at least one of them...
Vitali vs Winner! its official

Good point. It's going to be interesting, either way. Which is why you suggested a less taxing warm up. Got it!
LOL - Oliver McCall's ranked #13 by the WBC (and by no other organization, for good reason) - he's a King fighter and he's little to no risk.
That's the fight his people should schedule if he's going to fight in Dec. as well...
I think Vitali beats Brock, but after a big layoff and a hungry, talented opponent - fighting Rahman less than 90 days later could backfire if Brock shows up like I think he will...

THANK GOD!! im happy Vitali is forced to fight Rahman so he can make all these dumbass people happy. Vitali wil win that fight in th 6th round on a TKO cause Rahman will get beaten real bad. Rahman does not deserve to fight for a championship at all
EXACTLY! Don't ya love it? Boxing is so wonderfully corrupt and brutally honest at the same time.

Those things are easily fixed with a check here or there, maybe a new car...
