Hopkins is Ducking Winky

I dont care what any of you say that are defending him. He is ducking Winky plain and simple. It's not necessarly a bad thing but thats what he's doing. I think its 50/50 with the Taylor fight and it wouldnt surprise me who won. Then he's going to finish off with Tarver because he can win and if he loses then no one will hold it against him because they will say that he moved up too far and that he was too old, even though his 2 big wins came against guys who were smaller then him and moved up. Winky is the guy for the 1st time who people really think could beat him and a fight people will love to see. He knew he was going to beat the one dementional Tito, the much smaller Oscar, and now a very inexperienced Taylor. He doesnt know if he can beat a guy like Winky anymore who looked very strong at 160 and has a very tough style. Most experts say that Winky can beat him but now Hopkins doesnt want to fight him? What kind of crap is that. He talks about Winky had his chance but he took the money against Mosley. Duh, why wouldnt he. All Hopkins does is talk about money and takes fights or doesnt take them because of it and now he's going to talk about Winky doing it. He just doesnt want to give Winky a shot at a very good legacy. He knows that if he loses to Taylor then people will say he was old or if he loses to Tarver then people will say that he was old and small but if he loses to Winky then people will start to question was he really great at all. They will say who did he really beat? A blown up Tito who Winky dominated worst and a very small and way past his prime Oscar. They will say did we let Hopkins play us? He never moved up in weight and he doesnt have a great resume besides Tito and Oscar and I just explained about them. The reason at the top why I said it maybe ok for him to duck him is because Hopkins was a beast in his prime and I think he would maybe lose now but wouldve kicked Winky's ass back then but there are still alot of questions around Hopkins that we will never know the answer too

This makes no sense,hop is on his way out,whys he need to fight a fighter in his prime? Its not like it would mean shit.He's fighting taylor,thats more than enough,let those younger dudes go at it once Hop is gone,that the shit i wanna see.

hmm I see what you are saying but you are using the wrong terms. It appears you are attacking Hopkins. I certainly hope not. No one can fault him for what he is doing. Winky is awesome and has done good things but on a smaller level.

This is truly an idiotic thread. I wish Hopkins would fight Winky but you can't say he's ducking Winky when he's going to fight a bigger and murderous puncher in Tarver. This is like when people were trying to say Roy ducked tarver by fighting Ruiz...what? That is not the same thing at all. No one cared about Tarver then except for Tarver. He hadnt done anything. Winky has done alot. Also if you read what I wrote then you would know that I think Tarver is much more dangerous for X then Wright but no one would criticize him for losing to Tarver as they would for losing to Wright

hmm Not an overstatement at all. Roy wasn't tarver's first. Go look at what happened to Eric Harding. Look at Tarver's record. Hell just watch when he actually puts some power in his punches instead of fighting like an amateur trying to rack up points.

If your a "real" boxing fan, a Winky/Hopkins fight would be a good one, it's not a fight for an average fan... I think Winky would give it to Hop. His defense is tremondous, plus he's a lefty. It would be a good fight, probably won't happen since Hop's claiming Winky had his chance....

I don't think Hopkins is ducking Winky at all. Actually i think after this fight with Taylor he's going to retire because of age. But Hopkins i think would win the fight in a split decision because Winky has some serious defense.

When did Hopkins ever say he's never moving up? The way I see, DLT, is that you're such a big Mayweather-nuthugger that you constantly try to look for ways to bring Hopkins down as he is the only one in Mayweather's way to being the true p4p king. I find it funny that the same people who were bashing Hopkins for fighting blown up fighters are now speaking against him for not fighting a blown up Winky Wright. If Hopkins fights and beats Winky Wright we're just going to hear the same garbage over and over so do us all a favor you Hopkins haters and stfu...it's getting old. And besides, he's going after Tarver someone naturally bigger than him. It doesn't matter what he tries to do to solidify his greatness, you people will still hate on.

Before Winky even thought about moving up, people said Hopkins should prove himself and fight at Super Middle or LHW...now that he finally decides to do it, he gets bashed...what more do you guys want? it is like no one will give Hopkins respect unless he just keeps fighting every new entry to MW...it is like you want him to fight forever until he loses...people just want him to lose... I can understand somewhat why fighters would duck Winky.cause he has great defense and is a southpaw. But someones gotta step up to the plate and fight this guy. Hes not unbeatable..i mean..Vargas beat this guy..maybe hes a different fighter since then..but..just saying he can be beaten.
