Sounds trivial, but when you think about shaking the hand that may have delivered some pretty famous KO's, it's a treat for a fan of the sport.
I've shaken hands with:
JC Chavez
Roy Jones Jr
Jeff Lacey
Miguel Cotto
Carlos Hernandez
Buddy McGirt
Floyd Mayweather Sr
Vince Phillips
Eric Morel
Jore Arce
Hussein Hussein
Nedal Hussein
Ishe Smith
Herbie had good hand speed for a Heavyweight, I watched him in his first ever amateur tournament (ABA's in I think it was 89) and for someone who had never competed before his hand speed and confidence impressed me, but he controversially lost to Henry Akinwande in the final and then turned pro straight after. Yeah, not a bad fighter Herbie in the 90's.
Whatever his hand speed he's got shit for brains.. Told this story in another post, but I met him with a mate who had a Public Enemy T-Shirt on, to which Herbie questions if it says 'Reebok'?! Me and my mate both just had this kind of shocked expression on our faces and replied negative. Followed by an embrarresed silence.
It's not even the right amount of letters for godsake!
well if u did good for u if u didnt why say u did? You a closet fan!?
I was joking you idiot lol
I met Willie Jorrin and shook his hand in the gym of my old gym...that's right the guy who beat Larios and got knocked out in the first round in the rematch!
I got Floyd Sr, ivan calderon, nedal hussein, and jim lampleys autographs..

I met Felix Sturm! :D ;) :boxing:
Have met Herbie Hyde (thick as shit!), Frank Bruno (thick as shit but hellavu nice guy!), Gary Mason (you guessed it.. thick as..) and most recently the great Sugar Ray Leonard (definately not thick as shit but a little spaced out!). Great honour to shake his hand though!
Marvin Hagler was probably the guy I got most excited about meeting, I met him circa 89 where Michael Watson trained in Hackney and he did an interview saying that Nigel Benn was the one to watch, Michael Watson told him to think again. So I also met Watson ofcourse. I've traded punches with Dean Francis, Glenn Catley, Howard Eastman, Neville Brown, Ryan Rhodes - all sparring. I trained alongside the likes of Jane Couch. I've met Benn, Lennox(asshole), Naz(asshole), spoke with Audley Harrison as amateurs in 98, Richie Woodhall(very nice guy), Jimmy McDonnell held focus mitts for me a few times, spoke with Carl Froch when we were due to meet at 99 ABA's(I got put out in the semi's thankfully). I met Mike McCallum twice(an honour), he visited my old gym when he came to defend his WBA Middle title against Michael Watson in 1990 and he again came to my old gym in 1995 when he defended his WBC Light-Heavy title on the Benn-McClellan undercard, The Body Snatcher gave me a few tips!
Add Frank Bruno to that list, met him at the same time I met Naz.
I shook hands with Sugar Ray at the Holyfield-Tyson rematch....
at the weigh in for Mayorga-Forrest 2, I got autographs and/or handshakes from Winky Wright, Vivian Harris, Paulie Ayala, Wayne McCullough, Cassius Green, Carl King, and Jimmy Lennon Jr....
met John Madden at the Lennox Lewis-Lionel Butler fight here in SacTown....
Shook Gary Bell's hand the night before Tua Ko'd him in less than a round out in Tahoe....
Shook hands with Max Kellerman and JM Marquez at Barrera-Morales 2

Naz came up to me when I was working on the heavy bag and told me that I wasn't snapping my jab and then walked away shaking his head. Later he didn't even look at me while shaking my hand.
why was lennox an asshole?
The guy's just got one of those faces you wanna slap. He just seemed to ignore me and try to belittle me kind of thing, I don't know why. I can still see him now.. when I'd say something to him he'd kind of say in a slow, ignorant, pompous voice "yeah, man" and kind of nod slightly while turning his back on me. The guy's an asshole.
