The US heavyweight olympian Jason Estrada is now a pro. He fights out of Providence, Rhode Island, and his fights are sometimes broadcast on a local channel.
From what I have seen of him, he is a skilled boxer who can take a punch. He basically brawled his way to a relatively easy 40-36 UD during the fight that I saw.
Does anybody else have a comment on him?
I'm much more excited about Chazz Witherspoon, by the way. Not only does he seem to have a better attitude, but he obviously has good boxing genes, he has a much bigger heavyweight type frame than the stocky Estrada (Estrada is listed at 6'1", but I don't believe it) and he is VERY active, which I love to see in a young heavyweight. They turned pro at the same time and Witherspoon already has six fights under his belt (with a seventh coming up soon).
I saw his pro debut and he basically outclassed they other guy with considerable boxing skills and accuracy. He also did some show-boating which made him seem kind of arogant. But I agree with Scap, that it's too early too tell if he'll make any kind of mark in the heavyweight division.
Of course. Watched him in the last Olympics.
I don't like his attitude, at all, and I don't expect much from him.
He didn't show up in the best of shape at the Olympics and he made a complete ass of himself. He got completely outclassed by someone he was expected to beat, didn't even medal as a result, and then he went off in an interview afterward about how he didn't care . . . all he cared about, he said, was being a pro.
Well, fuck him. If that's the case, then get the fuck off the Olympic team and allow someone who really does care to represent our country!
Also, while he does have decent skills, he is somewhat slow and he's small (short is really what I mean). Those are not good attributes at heavyweight. Someone like Calvin Brock (another former Olympian) would shut this guy out on the scorecards.

Everything that I have read about this kid tells me he is a shithead.
It is way to early to even bring up his name!
