Vivian Harris is a World Champ at 140,and for him not to get any fights against any known 140 pounders' by now,is quite hard to believe. He's talked a bunch of crap, but in reality,he's a protected paper champ looking for a big pay,in which he'l probably lose. He'd get outworked and possibly kayoed by all the 140lb title holders IMHO.
To top things off,he's facing yet another unknown fighter on the undercard of Gatti-Mayweather.I would expect a top prospect with 27 total fights to be fighting a nobody, but this is a title holder in the deepest division in the World.I think he's trying to build up his name up with his mouth, just so he can defend his title against bums until he can get a big pay day. What a paper Champ.
You thought he was about to cry then? Should've seen him when he knocked out Hurtado in 2 rounds, LOL. He threw a temper tantrum. Seriously, that's what it looked like. Anybody else who saw it could back me up on it.
I wouldn't call Harris "my fighter." Heh, I thought he was decent. Thought he stood a good chance against Hatton but never against Mayweather.
Well, you put up a good defence of him, at any rate. I think I might have that fight against Hurtado somewhere, though maybe I never watched all the way through to the end. At any rate, I can't remember the last time a fighter threw himself so much off of his game in order to go after the easy win. He was looking crazy out there. I don't know, too bad Steward's not a therapist along with being a trainer/manager/cutman.
Sorry your fighter lost, masterdirector. Sucks when a guy has the talent but doesn't have the head to take advatnage of it. Harris sounded like he was about to cry after that one, he definitely is way too emotional to survive at the elite level.
You're a paper champ. What are you talking about though seriously. Its not his fault that nobody has yet fought him. If you remember correctly, Harris was wanting Hatton and Tszyu both very badly. Harris has the WBA title and Hatton was the #1 contender, but gave up his #1 spot, just gave it away. Now Harris did duck Judah, I'll give you that. Or he sure as hell didn't sign the contract, which Judah did sign. He showed up to Hot 97 calling Judah out. Zab showed up later, laughed when Harris said he beat Hurtado. Judah responded "I beat that bum in the gym." Harris didn't talk all the junk he was talking once Zab showed up. And he never signed the contract that Zab had drawn up.
But hey, if people want to fight Harris, they just have to get ranked #1 and they can force a fight with him. And hey, he did beat Urkal twice in Urkal's hometown. He also beat Ivan Robinson, whom had beat Arturo Gatti, twice. And I mean Hurtado was a good win too. Hurtado's only other losses were what, Tszyu and Whitaker. Hurtado beat the then "undefeated" Randall Bailey, then Harris knocked Hurtado out in 2.
Harris needs to fight some bigger name people for sure, but you can invert that comment and say some bigger name people need to fight Harris. If Hatton or Mayweather look to unify the 140 division, they'll fight him.
The journeyman Carlos Maussa proves me correct, biiiiiiotch!!
Harris is a good fighter but he's defintely a paper champ because he didnt win the title agaisnt a real champion, but the main reason he's a paper champ is because he wont defend it against an elite opponent. I wish he'd man up and take a risky fight, he's turned down good money and fights because of his stupid ego.
