when a person sleeps at night, rarely youll get a person who clenches their teeth.they usually have fucked up teeth and lots of cavities/fillings etc. however their jaws also are more stronger than the avg non clencher. i think that this is the variable that makes someone have a good chin.

Sounds like crap to me, taking a punch to the head has to do with your will, strength of neck, core and leg muscles as well as the thickness of the fluid layer around ur brain.

It sounds a bit silly but from what i've read its very true, lifting weights make your face tense up and it has the same effect. Having a solid jaw will obviously make your punch resistance better.
I think that a good beard is attributed to will. If a person is strong willed that individual will be very difficult to K.O. I think if a fighter comes into a fight with more confidence than his apponent or in himself he will be there all night. Not being discourage when things are getting tought and not going his way. It's all about mental toughness.
Still not a knockdown. He was out on his feet, not out on the canvas :p
castillo is a weird breed of a fighter
hes like a machine or something..i think he has a thicker skull than the average man.in fact i think most people that were born in sonora have that thicker skull attribute, since a street fight in that part of town is about like street ball is in new york ;P the ancestors eventually evolve thicker skulls
i.e. i wonder if chavezs father boxed or his grandfather, great grandfather etc
Its a brace urself for impact thing, most great chins of Boxing know every single time they fuck up, and their brain braces for impact. They expect and see the punch coming because they are smart enough to recognize their mistake and know they are going to get hit more often than the regular chinned men.
bracing yourself definately plays a big part
holmes was the man at doing that
Not that Holyfield is un-KOable, but there's no way he should be able to take a shot like this and not go down...
Yeah I dont think so either. I dont understand how Kassim Ouma took a couple of huge right hand bombs from Jantuah either. He did not even blink. Those punches were really fucking nasty.

maybe it's like a combination of strong legs/shoulders/neck/jaw
