How can you tell, they went toe 2 toe for 11 rounds, Holy was still standing. McBride would fall, Holy will own another title.
Not by any of the current crop of champions unfortunately. Possibly Ruiz but you are only as good as your last fight and Holyfield got dominated. But I would bet Larry Donald would defeat Ruiz.
I don't think that would be very intelligent of Holy to do. Tyson nailed McBride with some good shots, even if none of them landed on his chin, and he never moved. Holy doesn't have near the power of Tyson, even now.

If the fight does infact end up happening in Massachusetts, I will probably buy tickets and attend just to say that, I attended a heavyweight championship fight. Who knows, maybe it will be entertaining?
The undercard should be swell.
Well I dont know about doing well on ppv but I do figure it would sell with an irish crowd. But it is hard to believe as Mcbride isnt even a top boxer. But I suppose with the hometown crowd and all. But still that is one mediocre fight I surely wouldnt support by laying my hard earned money for.

In "Southie" thats South Boston, there is a large Irish population which will root for any boxer who is Irish whether he's good or not. If the fight was held in Massachusetts it would surely sell out and probabably do Ok on ppv.

Mcbride seriously has a following? Of what?
The only way that card will do well is if it has a strong undercard and as with King there always is one.
That fight is a joke and if Toney vs Ruiz couldnt sell 8k tickets in the garden, I can imagine this fight being at some fairgrounds.
Evander will always be more popular than Ruiz or Mcbride for his warrior mentality.

Spinksjinx, for Mcbride, a fight with John Ruiz in the Boston area would be more profitable than one with Holyfield because:
A. Both fighters have a strong following in Boston
B. Massachusetts hasn't held a world title fight for the heavyweight championship of the world since the Marciano days
C. Evander's stock is low because of obvious reasons

Any fight with Ruiz isnt profitable let alone with Mcbride. Toney vs Ruiz did poorly how could Mcbride vs Ruiz?
Larry Donald was supposed to be an easy opponent but the match makers must have forgotten that Larry always had good stamina and fast but not powerful hands. Bad match for Holyfield.

I don't think that Holyfield will get back into the ring with Mcbride because the Mcbride-Ruiz fight probabaly will be more profitable and its for a title. However, I wouldn't mind seeing Holy back in action one more time against some bum like the guy Riddick Bowe just fought or even Bowe for that matter!. Match Holy against someone who doesn't have a chance against him and say "adios" Evander, thanks for the memories!

why is anybody taking this serious...a past his prime ex-champ in a GARBAGE division fighting against somebody who has beaten mike tyson and we STILL forget his name...
i am TIRED of these heavyweight pretenders who have done nothing but ruin the greatest single division in all of sports...i don't even concern myself with heavyweights too much any more...super middies and lower...that's where the real fights are at...
Holyfield is waiting to be tested by the NYSAC to try and be reinstated. King worked his magic with the commission and is getting him another shot.
Bad move for Evander I think. I believe he may pull out a SD but I wish Holy would just walk away. He is rich and punch drunk go on and enjoy life with your 10+ children.
If Mcbride wins it still does nothing for him, Larry Donald hasnt gained any recognition from it and rightfully so neither will Mcbride. Put Kevin in with Davarryl Williamson so we can see him go to sleep again.
Mcbride doesnt deserve his hundred thousand dollar paydays.
Exclusive Interview: Evander Holyfield
By G. Leon
Is Holyfield interested in fighting Kevin McBride?
June 20, 2005 - GL: What's good Evander? How is everything? "Everything's fine. Just relaxing keeping myself in shape. I'm hoping everything with the Commission in New York works out because I want to be back in the ring by September."

Sorry guys, but this is as far as I can go.. I no longer has an account with boxingtalk.net as I'm sick of their biased views
