What do you guys think the winner of this match will do in the future...Besides a possible match up with Roy Jones later in the year I dont kno what eles would be good for either Tarver or Johnson...I think Tarver Should move up and get in the Heavy wieght mix or atleast cruiser cuz there is no one of any sinifigance at 175 beside Tarver and Johnson... So what do yall think the winner of this match will do next besides Roy??
or the winner of lacy/Calzaghe
...if that even comes off.
Either guy who wins, might get an HBO deal anyway (I don't know how long either guy is signed, if it's beyond this fight).
Lacy is a Showtime fighter, and if Calzaghe would upset him (lol - I said upset - leave that alone, usual suspects...), then I imagine they would try to work something with him, too (Showtime's the only network I've seen Joe fight on in the United States)
I imagine Lacy/Calzaghe is a Showtime event, if it comes off...
He should fight Adamek or Kessler or Clinton Woods. I dont know why people think that after this fight that Johnson or Tarver should leave this weight class to fight old man Hopkins or a guy like Braiwaithe.
Adamek isn't in these guys' league. Neither is Paul Briggs. Tarver could have easily defended his belt against Briggs, but obviously there was money, and even more prestige in losing (though I thought he won) to Glen than beating Briggs...
I saw Adamek vs. Briggs...it would have been a decent ShoBox undercard, but I think Roy Jones (who was getting ready for HBO TV) probably was looking in the ring, thinking, "I could take both these guys..."
the cruiserweight division may not be very prestigious, but there's been very talented guys come out of it in recent years, look at the three guys who left it recently, james toney, jirov, and juan carlos gomez, then you have holyfield who's a legend, being prestigious dosn't mean shit.
Juan Carlos Gomez got KTFO in one round against Yanqui Diaz.

No doubt that Roy Jones thinks that he is getting the winner of this fight. Hell, he has called it a "box off" to face him.
If Tarver wins, I say him and Johnson do it again, then the winner can fight Jones. If Johnson wins he can go ahead and fight Jones later this year.
When did I bring up Mormeck?
I said he should fight ADAMEK..

My point is that Tarver and Johnson are Lt heavyweights. They should fight the Lt heavyweight title holders. What the f***k is the point of them fighting a guy like Braiwathe. And Mormeck would eat either of these guys for breakfast in my opinoin, and this is not to mention the Lt Heavyweight division is a much more prestigious one than the cruiserweight division is.
Tarver maybe could be successfull as a heavy but he is already pretty old, Johnson on the other hand, not a chance at heavy.

Whats your point exactly?

Just because a guy has never been shown on TV in the United States does not mean he is a bad fighter, or a sub par fighter, or a paper champion. Calzaghe has never been televised in the US and he has been the reigning Ring Magazine Supermidleweight Champ for several years, even though he only holds the WBO title. It is all about politics and who you are promoted by and shit.

What about Adamek...LOL

They should fight the title holders at Lt Heavyweight. Lt Heavyweight is one of the most prestigious weight classes in boxing. It is all screwed up right now because every sanctioning body has a different champion, same as at heavyweight.
Just going to heavyweight doesn't guarantee a big payday. There is no heavyweight out there that would guarantee Tarver a seven figure check, unless the network or promoter wants to take a very big chance.
Ruiz and Byrd hold belts and still make 300,000 or so per fight...
I agree but I believ he will make more at heavy no matter how much that more is...other than Johnson there are no big fights for tarver unless Jones comes back so why not move to heavy..
I think that both Tyson and RJJ needs a win, so why not face them vs each other.
Glen and Antonio can stick around, if Tarver wins which I think he will this time around, there should be a 3rd
I'd love to see that fight now, since the Mcbride fight it makes me think that even a Light Heavy can KO Tyson.
The light heavyweight division has been poor for several years. When does the time will come that this division will be interesting like the one in the jr welterweight, welterweight and jr middleweight?
