I just watched HBO's legendary nights about Tyson vs Douglas, and I thought that it was kind of funny that Tyson's first instinct when he got knocked down was to grab for his mouthpiece because he didn't think the ref would let him fight without it, but Corrales' first instinct was to spit it out.
I really have no point other than I thought the different approaches taken by these fighters was interesting. Does anyone think that Tyson could have benefited from Diego's strategy?
yeah ive seen fotage of that and i was thinking how stupid he was for going to get his mouthpiece. If he had gotten up straight away the ref or trainer would have picked it up for him and placed it in his mouth. At least it shows an honest fighter in him though, as opposed the the mouthguard spitting cheats (basically cos thats what they are).
