Talks with Don King, Mcbride's handelers, and Ruiz's have been going on for a possible matchup in the Boston Area for Ruiz-Mcbribe fight. Ruiz grew up in the Boston area and Mcbride now lives here.
I loving this news because I would like to get the chance to see a world heavyweight championship fight in my neck of the woods even though Ruiz isn't the most entertaining fighter and Mcbride is a journeyman. What do you guys think of this matchup? IMO Don King sees this as an easy fight for Ruiz, while capitalizing on the recent success of Mcbride by upsetting(and retiring) Mike Tyson.
Even though I'm not a Ruiz fan, he somehow always seems to come up with the "W." He's beaten good opposition such as Holyfield, Rahman,Golota, and Frez, so I wouldn't be surprised if he wins against this giant. Ruiz by UD.
By the way, where's the Pretender?
hes gone, wherever he is, he should stay there, you know... away from us.
golota beat ruiz but lost the decision. holyfield was FAR past his prime and only lost to ruiz once. rahman is a bum. oquendo is a bum. ruiz keeps talking about how hes the best, he beat the best in the division. ruiz is just a bladder full of hot air.
if u havent seen any of ruiz's fights, ur not missing anything worth watching. if ruiz did defend his "title" against vaulev, vaulev would absolutely maul ruiz. ruiz has to rely on his bulk and clinching to wear down his opponents. he cant do that to someone whos bigger, ecepecially bigger like valuev.
valuev by late round TKO.

Also this angers me because Mcbride hasnt dont squat to get a shot especially with the top 10 ratings for the WBA and Mcbride still isnt ranked.
John Ruiz
1. Hasim Rahman
2. James Toney
3. Lanc Whitaker
4. Mont Barrett
5. Nicolay Valuev
6. Corri Sanders
7. Andrew Golota
8. Jameel Mccline
9. Faruq Saleem
10. Owen Beck
11. Larry Donald
12. Gerald Nobles
13. Wladimir Klitschko
14. Lua Krasniqi
15. Sinan Samil Sam
Isn't it odd thay the WBA would rank a fighter (Toney) that's suspended?
I think Ruiz-Valuev is an interesting matchup just because of Valuev's sheer size. I would definetely tune in to watch, even though I haven't seen any of Ruiz's current fights for obvious reasons. :p

if i were john ruiz: yes, id be scared. if i were a pro right now: no, i wouldnt be scared (i wouldnt be scared because i know that anyone can be beaten).
i know toney's not ruiz mandatory, im just trying to say that valuev and toney are the two fighters that ruiz doesnt want to face.

Toney isn't Ruiz's mandatory, I thought he was suspended from fighting for the WBA title for 3 years? As for Valuev, wouldn't you be scared of fighter who is over 7 feet and 300 lbs?

ruiz is gonna want to face anybody except his mandatory: nicolay valuev or james toney.
who cares who wins this fight? they're both bums.

Shoot,
we need some new upcoming fighters in the heavyweight class. plus why give mcbride a shot, not deserving what so ever. i think one of the new upcoming fighter is the guy from nigera Samson i think is his last name. dont quote me on it but i think he needs to be watched closley he will be rising to the top.
Sam Peter is the guy you thinking of, he has a lot more to learn other than throw bombs. Him and a few other prospects should make the division a little bit juicy. But none of the champions want to fight the prospects, they would rather fight top 10-20 ranked guys than 1-15.
Brock should have gotten a shot by now, but anybody who isnt promoted by King and is a heavyweight they are automatically out of the running.
I here that

The undercard will salvage that debacle.
If this goes off like you say I will never be bored debating this fight with the Margarito fans until the day of the fight, and therefore I would be entertained at work for the rest of the summer...therefore I hope that you are right :) .
It would be nice if all the fans could get together and boycott this crap. How cool if not a single ticket was sold.

It looks to be very boring eventhough Ruiz is trying to make his fights more interesting. What interests me is how Mcbride will do. If he wins, what would that make Tyson look like? He was winning easily untill he headbutted him and still was winning when he quit. Ruiz will probably handle him easily though because he does well against other slow guys.
Interesting...
Did you get my PM, by the way?
Yes and I had replied, also King broke the news that negotiations are on the table for an August date for Zab against Margarito. Zab chose this route instead of fighting in July because his chances would have been against Collazo and opted out. I assume this is because Oscar wants nothing of Zab right now and is trying to ink Winky into a fight and Zab figures if he tries to pick up one more belt on the way and exceeds he has the power like Hopkins to demand everything and anything and the whole legacy thing is a perk as well. Also it provides Zab with a nice payday until Oscar wants his piece.
Whats the problem? Ruiz faced Golota than James Toney, in a row, I think he could fight whoever now, dont you?
I just feel he should keep fighting top opposition, this guy talks the most smack about how the division is piss poor and how it needs a unified champion, yet he has the perfect opportunity to make it with another fighter who wants unification (Byrd) but these 2 piss poor champiosn (I like and respect them both) wont fight each other let alone speak one anothers names. Now a Toney vs Byrd fight was going to happen so why not a Ruiz fight?
Bombardier-Indeed I do.
