hmm
Peep this buddy. I'm a 3 yr amateur boxer, and here's a little something I learned from my uncle who went 350-9 in the amateurs. This is good for beginners, and everyone really.
1) When they charge you, get low, while keeping your hands up on either side of your chin/cheek to guard.
2) To get low, instead of dipping your head and looking at the ground, keep your eyes on your opponent.
3) When you duck and get low, bend at the knees.
4) Also, to counter-attack a charging young buck like the ones you are fighting, throw hard rights hand to the body as they come in and as you are getting low. When you get low I mean really get low and keep your head moving in order to make a harder target. When you duck you should be low enough so that your chin is about in line with their waste. Get it?
Summary: Let them charge you, and as they come, get low, hands up to protect yourself, duck using your knees, and blast them with a hard, straight, quick punch to the gut.
DO NOT just turn your head down. You will still get hit, and I'm sure you have seen this by now. Bend your KNEES and get low, line your chin with their waste as you are ducking when they charge...also, get some hooks in there when they are inside on you. Blast a left hook to the body then the head, consecutively. Ignore their offense when you do this, because if they are punching when you are punching, they will get hurt. You are the bigger fighter so press the issue. Don't let them beat up on you on the inside, because that's your domain from now on.
I've repeated myself a million times one what to do to counter these fools, so you better do it and report back! (^_^)
well like everyone says...straight punches. straight, jab, cross and move away from the power hand.
how is your inside game by the way? cuz once you connect a good one you can side step and throw some short hooks and uppercuts to the body to slow him down.
circle away from his strong hand..use your jab as a setup..dont overuse it..throw alot of straights and hooks...but keep moving..keep your hands up the whole time..chin tucked in..keep your poise...even throw in some body punches..to keep him off balance
side-step them if they rush u. just like a bull-fighter, they're too concerned with charging ahead and hurting u than they are of really chasing after you. step to the side and hook 'em while they pass you, let them run into ur fist instead of ur body.
Guys that come in swinging wild like that are already off balance to start with and can't slip punches easily if you're accurate with 'em. Throw a hard lead right hand as he's coming in swinging. Arms flailing or not, if you throw it hard enough, and in the right place, it'll land, and he'll quickly start reconsidering his method of attack, with a good chance of him meeting the canvas. You could also try a lead right uppercut, since he's probably leaning over as he's coming in swinging, but if you're new to boxing, you probably don't have a good right uppercut yet. Stick with the lead straight right hand. And forget about a left hook...you want to catch him farther out than you can reach with your hook. If you time it right, you should be able to use his forward momentum to add power to your own punch, and stand a good chance of not only putting him down, but making him stay there.
If you're taller than him, keep sticking your jab in his face and circle away from his power. If he's swinging as wild as you say, he wont be able to keep that pace up.
If you're shorter, cover up, get inside, put your head on his chest and throw short hooks. Try to be the charger, but protect yourself.
O and what exactly is a cross
its where your hand cross over to the opposite side of your body
so instead of a straight right the right hand would move from right to left crossing the bodyline
the shot is more compact than the hook in the respect that it doesnt travel as wide to gain speed
what is a good movement like how should i move around him
if he has a good right hand move clockwise if he is wild and aggressive confuse him with clockwise and counter clockwise movement
I try to throw jabs but he just runs at me i get like 2 in and they hit his gloves swinging out in front of his face and hes already on me
get your chin on your chest then and go head to head with him see if he likes it up close, if he charges push him off but remember to protect your right
