Whats everyone's opinion on Frank Warren managing skills??
Under Warren, Hatton has become the world number 1 light welter, he's also become a very famous and rich man. Warren has moved Hatton along at a steady pace(some say too slow) but he's got the big fight when Hatton was at his peak.
Do any of you respect Warren managing style now or do you still think he's an asshole??
Harrison was stripped of the wbf belt
As regards hatton, hard to say, no doubt he wouldnt have been capable of this 2 years ago...he learned a lot from tackie I think...i duno, its hard to say and would be wrong to criticise now given that at 26 he is now world champion....hes got 4 years with his style to finish his career so plenty of time to do well...
i was frustrated with hattons progress to date but i think last night was worth waiting for....
Any idea on when/who his next fight is?
In the grand scale of things I don't think it matters cos he'll never match up to a good pro heavyweight who can rough him up but it'd be nice to see what he can do against a decent fighter...
He's got the reach to outjab anyone...
Fair enough..
He (Harrison) needs to get a fuckin wiggle on though cos he aint' gonna make a penny with whatever his TV deal is on the BBC (hardly famous for promoting big fights!) and he's 30-odd already isn't he?
Yeah he is 34 I think. Your right. He does need to get a move on. Every fight takes its toll, especially at heavyweight. Yet another fighter defending a nothing belt (WBF).

What are you talking about? My question was, who is managing Audley Harrison?
I thought this was a question about my comment regarding Hatton - too slow.
Harrison manages himself. I thought he might have hooked up with Frank Warren. Hence your post. But looks like I got it wrong.
EDIT: Your right, Harrison is also moving along far too slow.
"As far as Hatton goes" - enough said. Read the post please before firing off half cocked.

Tszyu had double the am fights Hatton did, Hatton turned pro at 18 so a lot of the early fights where just him becoming a man.
Tszyu had a long amateur career. Too long! 270 fights and world champion. That can really spoil a pro. Lucky it worked to his advantage. I would say that if Hatton had 135 amateur fights he would have been a man, and should have moved up a lot faster (not taking anything away from him).
Far too slow. 39 fights/wins and just become a world champion? WTF! That is very slow. Kostya has only had 31 fights and countless championships. Hatton has been defending his WBU (who?) belt for the last 5 years. IMO he has been bought along too slow.

The WBU belt is good thing to have in the UK, its a worthless belt but British rules have the ref scoring the fight but with the WBU belt round his waist Hatton had 3 judges scoring his fights.
