Of the major upsets in the boxing world which do you see as the greatest one. Some say Buster V Mike, Lenox V Hassim, or even Roberto V Sugar Ray.
Me, myself i say of the Old school it would be Gene Tunney V Jack Demspey. My recent upset would be Jones V Tarver
...I think Buster was very skilled. He just lacked focus and discipline. Everybody saw what kind of boxer he could be the night he put it all together to take out Tyson.
He just didn't have what it takes to stay the champion, but he could've been a all time great..
I love when so called FANS like Golden Boy here call fighters like Buster Douglas a BUM. Buster was a very good technician, crisp puncher, beautiful combinations etc. Guys like YOU make boxers HATE some so called 'fans'

I agree with you...

Alright, i get that you feel you have to go around saying Hatton is gonna win, but did you really have to drop a mil on him?Yes, I had a thread about this..

Like NiGe2011, I too get very nervous, when my favorite boxer is fighting. You know about the fight months in advance, all the anticipation, the hype is driving you nuts, so this is what I do, this is my crazy logic...
I bet against my favorite fighter. I bet for him to loose! (Two reasons)
1) I am very unlucky when it comes to betting on a winner. 90% of the time, I loose
2) If my fighter wins, than who cares if I loose the money! If he looses, well, at least you made some dough.
But if you bet on your favorite fighter, he looses AND you loose the money? That's too much of a pain!
Thus my advise to you: if you bet, bet against!

Take McKay for examle. He is a Golota freak (well we all have our favorites)
He really wanted for Golota to win and knew he would (this is against Brewster) so he bet all of his 18 mil hard earned points on Golota.
End result, Golota Lost and the poor guy lost all of his points. He must be cruched :(
But if he was to bet lets say 3-5 mil against Golota.. If Golota won, I don't think he would have cared about the 5 Mil points. He would have still be jumping up and down as Golota would have been a World Champion.
But knowing that Golota lost, if he bet against Golota, he would have at least kept his 18 Mil and won another 5.
23Mil Vs. Nothing. You pick!
I have the worst of luck when it comes down to it...
If I even squeak that Tszyu will win, he's doomed.
Therefore, I've got to keep betting against him and assume he's gonna loose, yet deep inside, OF COURSE I HOPE HE WINS (but Shhh, I didn't say that ;))

I don't get you man. You have got Tszyu in your avatar and his nick as your custom title, yet you are always betting against him and it seems like you want him to lose. wtf???I have the worst of luck when it comes down to it...

Both Ali-Foreman and Douglas-Tyson shocked the world. The difference is though, Ali was one of the greatest fighters ever, Douglas was nothing but a bum.
Tyson-douglas
Tyson-Douglas wasnt as big as Ali-Foreman!! Many people didn't even watch Tyson-Douglas. The 'world' didnt even know who Douglas was. Ali-Foreman was a world wide EVENT. The world WACTHED the fight and the anticipation was HUGE for it. I mean, MOVIES have been made about the fight 20 years later. Do you think a movie or documentary or ANYTHING will ever be made about Tyson-Douglas? (NO!)
when an unknown mexican fighter ended patrick charpentier welterweight reign of terror in el paso ! i was shocked!
morrad hakkar defeat at the end of a 40 years old was a big upset too.
Tyson V Douglas no doubt. Tyson was thought to be unbeatable at that time. The question was not who he fought next, but who he would destroy next.
It really shocked the word and was on all the news channels.
Wright really shocked me by beating Trinidad in every round with 1 punch...
I didn't think he would do it that easily..
I knew he was gonna win but not in that fashion
Tyson-Douglas is probably the biggest. One that doesn't get mentioned is Foreman-Moorer. That a 45yr old could win the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world was unbelievable(yes it was the undisputed title, no matter what the alphabet boys say, he beat the man who beat the man)
Floyd Patterson being the first to regain the title. Many had tried before him and failed. Plus he had to beat Ingo, who had taken the title from him. Floyd and Ingo don't get much ink these days.
