I'm in no way dissing any fighter or poster or ethnicity in this thread, I am simply posting something I have noticed.
I have noticed that there are certain patterns in the favorite fighters of boxing fans. Let me explain.
My favorite fighters right now are Manny Pacquiao, Felix Trinidad, and Diego Corrales. All 3 of them are bombs away sluggers who could care less about what the other guys are hitting them with. But there are other things that affect these patterns.
How many Roy Jones fans also like Zab Judah and Floyd Mayweather? How many Barrera fans also like Morales and Marquez? How many Hatton fans also like Calzaghe and Kessler? There are cultural and ethnic things that play a role in some of the fighters that people like, not just styles.
I know it may sound pointless, but there is a point to this thread. I'm just being diplomatic.
i like fighters with either:
1. mad skills ( james toney )
2. relentless determination ( rocky marciano, dempsey, lamon brewster )
best of all is both in one fighter, not many of those
I'm not racist, in fact my sister Mary is half black and I have half brothers and sisters that are chinese, and my stepfather is mexican. But I'm saying that some things are coincidental. Jones fans seem predisposed to liking Mayweather and Judah.
Good lord no wonder your all fucked up! :D
Waht you are saying is very true.
Take a look at my list.
Fighter i like.
Trindad
Pacquiao
Castillo
Corrales
Tszu
Margarito
Lacy
Hatton
JCC
Hagler
Hearns

Types of Fighters I dont like.
Casamayor
Spinx
Whitaker
Judah
Winky
CAMACHO
Damn I just noticed they are boring lefties.
Goood thing I have more that I like than dislike.
Mayweather and Jones get my respect cause they squeeze what they can in a fight.
i dont like showboats(camacho, hamed) or ALOT of trash talking and disrepect(toney)
i do like punchers and guys who provide entertaining fights, win or lose... tszyu, gatti, tito, wlad, tyson, wlad, chico, morales, pac, etc..
I am white and I am a fan of Roy Jones, Zab Judah, Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson. I don't like a fighter because of race I like a fighter because the way they fight and the entertainment they provide.
Castillo
Corrales
Should have been enough of a test for Mayweather, Corley cocked him good and Mayweather prevailed.
People hate Mayweather and try to dig up every excuse to trash him.
Who said I hate Mayweather?! I like the guy... He is about to win me 2 mil points as well when he fight Gotti, who BTW will also test his Chin.
Has Mayweather ever been down? People have to stop saying he ain't got a chin just because he doesn't let people test to see doesn't mean he doesn't have one.
i think his glove touched the canvas, when he doubled over in pain after breaking his hand on some guy's head.
I know it's all in fun, but it ain't "true" at all.
Getting stopped by guys like Tarver and Tszyu don't make you weak-chinned.
Also...Mayweather a weak chin? LOL...right...that was just dumb.
I'm no Mayweather fan but he is great and his chin is good.
:boxing:
Funny...yes, true...no.
His time will come
I like all kinds of fighters and styles and it really depends on their weight class I guess.
For example in the heavyweight division, I like a guy who can completely dominate and push around there opponents and not someone who will stay on the outside and box. (Although I am a bit hypocritical in the sense that I like Byrd)
In the lower weights (130 or less) I have grown accustomed to the wars the mexican fighters have spoiled us with and that is what I like from that division. Perhaps that is why Marquez is a bore to sum.
However in between those weights I am a fan of traditional boxers.
My favorite boxers are:
Spinks
Pacquiao
Hopkins
Taylor
Rahman
Toney
Vitali
Byrd
Trinidad
Winky
DLH
Gatti
Judah
Cotto
Harris
Mayweather
Corrales
Tszyu
Mark Johnson
I like other fighters and there are to many to list, but I like different styles per weightclass.
HEY!
I don't see Brewster on your list??!!

Funny...yes, true...no.
Being half-Irish, I guess my favourite fighter would have to be Peter McNeely. Though Lacy wears a shamrock on his trunks so I guess he's okay as well.
hmm
I find the Prince to be very amusing and entertaining. He's sort of a guilty pleasure of mine. I never said he was the greatest of all time. Of all his entrances, for some reason I enjoyed the Kelley one most, with McCullough a close second. The idea of an English guy of Yemini descent acting like that is just so magnetic and interesting.
Go think about this one, "son".

So you don't like that pussyboy in your avatar, asian?

I didn't say you were being racist. But that's the only patern I see between RJJ, Judah and Mayweather, other than quick hands and shitty chins LOL
