10. Monte Barrett (skilled, true fighter when focussed)
9. Vitali Klitschko (in my opinion, one of the most overrated boxers ever)
8. David Tua (hope he fights more often, he is real good I believe)
7. Samuel Peter (not experienced yet, but will be successful I think)
6. James Toney (difficult to judge because of his use of steroids)
5. Chris Byrd (If only he punched a little harder)
4. Hasim Rahman (a lot more than a one-hit-wonder)
3. John Ruiz (Very underrated in my honest view)
2. Lamon Brewster (Not only since he beat up Golota)
1. Mike Tyson (You may doubt he is the best, you shall see soon)

This is my Top ten list. I tried to use a little common sense unlike in the orginal post, I guess he was putting his favorites, which if i did that i would have to rearrange my whole list aswell.
1.David Tua (he's returning and in future he will take all belts:))
2.Lamon Brewster (a best heavyweight at this moment, but he won't stop Tua:))
3.VItali Klitshko
4.Chris Byrd
5.James Toney
6.Haseem Rahman
7.Andrew Golota (regardless of defeat by Brewster, he is the mam who can beat V.Klistschko)

9.Monte Barret
10.Mike Tyson
No I didn't miss it, actually I was kind of banking on it. Don't get me wrong, I think they are both solid fighters- I wouldn't be able to justify putting Vitali at the #1 spot if I did not. But what you say actually speaks volumes for what I am trying to say, Kirk Johnson performed well in a losing effort to Ruiz- and also has beaten some obviously second tier heavyweights. Sanders performed well in a losing effort against Rahman, and has also KO'ed a bunch of second tier heavyweights. But that is pretty much what they were limitied to, is being game guys who fought closely against the best of the divion, who were also able to beat most of the lesser guys at heavyweight with ease. However, the guys who were the top five or so guys at heavyweight were the guys that are beating the Sanders and Johnsons of the division- guys like Ruiz and Rahman, who Vitali has not defended his title against yet. I am not saying that he would not beat them- just that I would like to see him in there against these fighters. Even the most dire hard Klitschko fan must be willing to admit that a victory over Ruiz, Byrd, Ruiz, or Brewster means more then a win over Sanders, Johnson, or Williams.
They would mean more, but a couple of those fights would be easier for VK than the Sanders fight was.
So I guess you missed Kirk Johnson outboxing Ruiz in a losing effort as well as beating Maskaev, Donald, Savarese, and Nicholson. And Sanders outboxing Rahman in a losing effort as well as beating Sprott TKO 1, Czyz TKO 2, Cole KO 1, and Wlad TKO 2.

You are certainly correct about the Corrie Sanders and Kirk Johnson thing, and I was actually thinking about that as I was posting. But I think we also saw that they were not really deserving of that ranking pretty quickly

Facts are facts he has done more and is more active than any of the other heavyweights and has fought better opposition.

Who has the better resume? Pick a number not a name.
3-4 clearly are top ones.
You are clearly overrating who has the better resume. What matters most is what you have done for me recently. If all we did was compare resumes then this guy would have to be ranked in the top 3.
Axel Schulz
Monte Barrett
Chris Byrd
Frans Botha
Ray Mercer
Jameel McCline
DaVarryl Williamson
You are certainly correct about the Corrie Sanders and Kirk Johnson thing, and I was actually thinking about that as I was posting. But I think we also saw that they were not really deserving of that ranking pretty quickly, Sanders only being the first of a few guys to expose Wladimir and Johnson really not having fought anybody of consequence. What I meant was that we had not seen Klitschko defend his title against Ruiz, Byrd, Rahman, Brewster, Barrett or the likes. Though it does deserve mentioning that he had that one fight with Byrd which I am not even going to get into here so as to avoid contreversy. I mean, don't get me wrong, I think Vitali is deserving of his #1 position, I also think that we have yet to see him in with any of the major challenges yet- he has done a decent job picking his fights so as to ensure that he would look good. And not all the blame can be heaped on Klitschko, it also has to go on these guys and Don King who constantly talk about fighting Klistchko but have not been able to get the deal done.
I think what really seperates Klitschko in this heavyweight division is not really a matter of talent per say, but just in this unpredictable heavyweight era he is very consistent. Beating the guys we expect him to, and in convincing fashion. We have yet to see him in there with one of the top five or six guys in the division though (at least now that his title reign has begun).
Corrie Sanders at the time was ranked no.3 by Ring Magazine and no.2 by the WBC. I think he consists as a top 5 guy. Kirk Johnson also ranked no.5 by the WBC at the that time, and a solid top ten opponent. Danny Williams after beating Tyson also slipped into the top ten, and the no.7 WBC ranking.

What makes Klitschko #1 in your opinion?
How about that he doesn't dodge anyone, lose to middleweights, and get decisions in which he should've lost? Something the other three title holders cannot claim.

That list was excellent!!!!
If your mentally handicaped
Seriously bro, thats some of the largest crap I have ever seen. Wladimir Klitschko has the most potential out of all those heavyweights how come he's not no.1? Not to mention he beat Barret, Byrd, and Mc'Cline?
(1) Vitali Klitschko -- not to beat a dead horse, but he is probably the most consistent guy here and has done nothing but KO people of late.
(2) Chris Byrd -- might be slowing down a little, but that has made for a more entertaining style and he is still winning.
(3) John Ruiz -- the fight with Toney is a no-contest, so I cannot take it into account- and not counting that, he is a champ and has taken care of business.
(4) Lamon Brewster -- KO of Golota and Wladimir gets him here, will operate under the assumption that the Brewster who fought Meehan is not the one who is fighting now.
(5) Hasim Rahman -- Is consistently beating the less talented heavyweights he has fought in impressive fashion. Barrett will be the first real test.
(6) James Toney -- since I am not counting Ruiz, Toney has only really beaten an aged Evander Holyfield and the completely unimpressive Rydell Booker. Still has the potential to move up though.
(7) Samuel Peter -- Like Rahman has been fighting some sturdy but less talented heavyweights, but still has looked scary doing it. Will not move up until he wins a big fight.
(8) Monte Barrett -- This guy does a number on prospects, pushing Mesi to the brink and beating Guinn and Beck. But then again, who doesnt beat Guinn these days?
(9) Calvin Brock -- the other undefeated heavyweight hope, the 'Boxing Banker' has not been all htat exciting, but is winning and the win over Mcline is the biggest victory to date from these prospects.
(10) Wladimir Klitschko -- the lesser of the Klitschko brothers still needs a convincing win over a solid heavyweight. But has posted wins in both his fights since losing to Brewster. Just barely gets him on the list.
1. Vitali Klitschko, Say what you want, no one can beat him right now.
2. Chris Byrd, Even though he's been struggling with B level opposition, the pool is kinda shallow.
3. James Toney, Positive test or no, steroids played no factor in him whipping Ruiz.
4. Lamon Brewster, Surpasses Ruiz based on the comparisons between their 2 experiences with Golata.
5. John Ruiz, What can I say, he's still around.
6. Hasim Rahman, Rejuvenated and hungry, he's surprising me by going up against the best in Klitschko.
7. Monte Barrett, this guy can fight!
8. Samuel Peter, the biggest puncher in the division. Has the most potential at 24.
9. Wladmir Klitschko, weak chin as it is, still has the skills and power to win his share.
10. Calvin Brock, I'm not quite sold on him, but he did beat McCline.
NOthing to add, this guy know his stuff.
even though i think that the division is weak my list goes like this
1 vitali (still think he is king bum)
2 byrd (should have him number 1 cuz he does hold a W over vit)
3 toney (should still have the belt)
4 wlad (could be the savior of the HW)
5 brewster (reason he is under wlad, cuz he didnt beat wlad
wlad beat himself)
6 rahman (did KO lewis and if ruiz wouldnt have danced with
him,he would have beaten ruiz)
7 Barrett (guy has skills just has to prove them)
8 peter (has great potential and looks to be a future champ)
9 tyson (guy still has power and if he could get his head out
of his ass he could make a run for one of the titles)
10 ruiz (worst one outta of the bunch.but have to put him in
top 10 because he did put the granite chinned holy on
the canvas)
