DLH did not win 8 out of 12 rounds..I had that fight a draw I say he won 7 rounds but the 12th could of been a 2 point round becuase all he did was run, I thought it was a draw, Trinidad was never a great boxer he was great puncher/fighter. Im susprised you never heard of the American Dream David Ried..he was suppose to be like the next Roy Jones
I wasn't into boxing back then. Most of the fights I've seen have been recently, and 95% of them are from the 90's.
Even if he won 7 rounds, he still wins the fight. You don't deduct points for avoidance of another fighter. If you do that, then Mosely loses all his damn points to Forrest in Mosely-Forrest II. He ran all night.
There will never be another Roy Jones, either. The man was an abnormal athlete.
Better than the original post:
De la Hoya won 8 out of 12 rounds, and got robbed. Trinidad recieved a gift decision, there was probably more money to see him fight other guys than DLH.
What did all his wins have in common? (Minus maybe Reid and Yory, because I can't say I've seen them) They all tried to take Trinidad's power, and take Trinidad out. They stood toe-to-toe with him. That proves nothing of his greatness as a boxer, only as a puncher.

You're fucked up with race man... You need to kerb that shit!
call me racist, that's fine.im not racist. the thing is, Boxing is, and always will be an ethnic oriented sport.golata vs bowe 1.chavez's people would always be behind him, cooney's people were behind him(not to put cooneys name in there with chavez or anything, they were only equal in terms of fan support at one time),hatton, cotto, tito, etc.
look at Protection's postcount, and look at BadMagicks. both joined at the same date, BadMagick has like 700ish, Protection(formerly known as RunW/Knives)has 3520+ posts...i think those numbers are pretty tough to dispute, the only possible answer can be that he's a hermit.
I think you have too big a hard on for me, fag.

They know that all Trinidad has is a left hook. He has no ring movement, he has no head movement, he has no right hand.
Pacman has better overall movement, head, feet, and upper body, he's fast, and he CAN use both hands. He favors his straight left, but he CAN throw other punches that hurt.
The only reason Trinidad beat those people he beat is because they stood toe-to-toe. I'll give him credit for doing what he did well, but he was FAR from being a "talented" boxer. A left hook doesn't make you good.

I wasn't kidding.
I apologize then. FYI. David reid was a very popular prospect..who was thought to be one of the better fighters in boxing at the time Trinidad beat him. He was undefeated...and Trinidad outboxed him, showing that he was basically the real deal as far as fighting goes.
That was IMO one of his most impressive victories.

Hector Camacho holds victories against Edwin Rosario, Ray Mancini, Greg Haugen, José Luis Ramírez, and Rafael Limón. His boxing skill was superb and seems like you never saw a prime Camacho fight. Otherwise, you would give him credit. His record is 78-5-2 and 3 of those losses were against Trinidad, Chávez, and DLH. No shame there.
Wow, mentioning Mancini is like me saying Danny Williams beat Mike Tyson. Mancini was retired for four years when he came out to fight him. I actually saw quite a few of his fights, I was a lot younger and not too into boxing, but I've seen plenty of his fights.
The biggest names he fought, Mancini, Duran, and Leonard, were shot. Then he lost to the other three.
He was good, I'm not saying he wasn't; I just don't think he was as good as everyone says he was.
Runw/knives, I only said that because you asked if I was kidding you. I hate when someone comes into the middle of a discussion between two people and asks if they are kidding the person who was not involved. I hate it online, and moreso in real life. Anyhow, I wasn't kidding.
I wasn't aware I was talking to you...
.
I dont give a flying fuck. P.M. him if you want to talk directly to him then.

Joppy lost because he thought he could take Trinidad's power, he couldn't.
Camacho was overrated. Who'd he beat? A shot Sugar Ray, and Duran? Then he got dominated by De La Hoya.
Never heard of David Reid.
Again, Trinidad had no head movement, and no feet. He wasn't a good boxer, he was just a hard hitter.
