I remember back in the old days like joe louis and robinson era
The chicago stadium was the biggest boxing place
Chicago was like Las Vegas then
It would be great to bring fights there again....
It's great to bring it all over the country
(especially Sacramento)
Trinidad-Mayorga did sell out didnt it?
It was a Trinidad return..
Gotta love the days when you could walk up and see Robinson and even Ali in there respective primes for a few dollars. Casinos ruined boxing, King is still true to the roots though.

I was just rounding off the areas to the nearest Coast, and Golota hasnt fought in Chicago for awhile, his fights are almost allways full, and wild.
I have never been to the East Coast but just from what people tell me Northern Illinois Chicago Milwaukee etc... are not that similar to New York and Philedelphia and DC and Boston. But I dont really know since I have never been there. The farthest East in the world I have ever been is to Ohio.
....Whats up with the pic of the side of your head? Are we supposed to be seeing something in particular?
Yeah try to spot the microchip probe next to my ear. Its like Where's Waldo you know.
Crowds are better on the East Coast. ;)
Any Sport.
Chicago, Illinois is not part of the East Coast. I hope that is not what you were implying.
If you meant it the other way, that the East Coast is better than Chicago,Illinois its not better.
Vegas and LA gets decent crowds for fights. The east coast fights aren't always all paid in full gates.
Don King has already admitted that he has to paper the crowd at MSG on a regular basis.
He gave away thousands of tickets to the Ruiz-Toney fight, they only sold something like 5,500 tickets to that fight.
The Trinidad-Mayorga fight was not a sell out.
Somebody said they bought the cheapest ticket possible and was able to move down to get a better seat once the fight started.
La gets respectable crowds, Vegas get shit crowds majority of the tickets are given away to casinos and the casinos give them to there "big winners" or scalp them for ridiculous prices.
Vegas is a fraud in ticket sales.

I dont know but after I've seen that Trinidad vs. Winky crowd I got to say they really do suck, and they should of been ashamed after the Trinidad vs. Mayorga crowd.
People on the east represent there is no doubt about that. The emotional feeling that the crowd brings to the fights is tremendous. Joppy vs Trinidad was INSANE! I felt electrified by just watching it on television.

It's true, because all of the fights are paid live gate and are real boxing fans instead of people given tickets at some casino like it is heavily done on the West.
There were alot of Golota supporters in that crowd. Believe it or not, Golota actually has a decent sized fanbase behind his back. Unfortunatly for them, Brewster destroyed there man.
The last heavyweight title fight that took place in Chicago involved Mike Weaver. King said he is gonna have Rahman fight at the United Center. And use Chicago as a place more often now.
Why? Because there was large support for polish fighters and there were 2 on the card. Top it off tickets were moderately priced to where even a father could take his child to the fight despite him barely making ends meet. It had a stacked and strong card and was a heavyweight title fight, which was a very intriguing matchup.
