pepole you can bet on hopkins against taylor without any risks.
let me prove it :
the french TV boxing analyst has jermain taylor winning by stopage.
knowing that this "expert" saw TITO by KO within 4 against winky , thought ruiz was gonna win on points against toney , had fernando vargas winning within 5 against DLH and after years as a boxing trainer around the world cant even pronounce "knockdown" right , when he says taylor is gonna stop hopkins , i m safely going for hopkins.
Taylor was not impressive in his last fight what fight did u see. He beat the hell out of an undefeated fighter. True he has never been in with someone like Hopkins but i think Hopkins is in for a long night. First off Taylor is not just a big puncher, he has a great Jab, good ring awarness, and unlike Hopkins he has youth on his side. Who has Hopkins faced lately, nobody thats who. (Eastman, a blow up Dlh) Taylor who have koed Eastman and Dlh. Dont get me wrong Hopkins is a legend but his time is running out and the younger, stronger, faster, Taylor is the man to due it. And he is improving in every fight and expect to see even more improvment in that fight. Taylor ko in 9.
Don't count Taylor out just yet. Styles make fights and the last I saw, Taylor has a great boxer-puncher style where he works his jab and capitalizes. He also has the inherent strength, agility, and overall speed to keep up with Hopkins. All Taylor has to do is fight intelligently and he'll win. Don't forget that Taylor has a reputation for mauling fighters, making the ref think he's going to kill him. I predict Taylor by late stoppage or UD.
Comparing these two fighters' styles with Tito-Wright is stupid. It's not even the least bit relevant.
I'm not counting him out at all, I have very high regards for the kid. I just don't know if he'll be able to deal with Hopkins' experience, discipline and patience. If he had just a tad better footwork and handspeed, I'd flip-flop the chance I gave each above. Don't get me wrong, I think the fight will be close, but if Taylor can't trap Hopkins and unload some serious punches, I don't think he'll win.
Here's how I see it playing out:
Hopkins bicycles for 12 rounds, occasionally tossing a jab or a long straight right before moving back, while Taylor connects mostly with jabs and (at most) a couple of hooks that don't land square, and maybe a single overhand right that'll probably bounce off the very top of Hopkins' head and be ineffective. Results: 7 or 8 rounds to Hopkins, 4 or 5 rounds for Taylor, and Hopkins gets "Boooo'ed out of the ring by disgruntled fans.
The only thing that will allow Taylor to win a decision is if there are a couple of judges that get as pissed off as fans do over Hopkins' style, and judge accordingly. Unlikely, but possible.
The only other outcome I can see possible, is Taylor learning quick, thinking on his feet, and figuring out a way to catch Hopkins and ring his bell early. I wouldn't exactly be surprised if this happens (there's an age where you're going to get caught no matter how good you are...Hopkins could be at that age now, it's hard to say), but I think it's about half as likely as Hopkins winning an ugly decision.

If nobody saw Taylors performance against Bunema and Marquez...
He would've been the underdog BIG TIME
I'm gonna bet on the fight n I'm gonna bet on Hopkins...
Taylor did not look so DOMINANT in his last 2 bouts
Taylor's definitely someone to keep an eye on in the future but he's still just a bit green, in my opinion, to take on Hopkins and stand a serious chance of putting leather on him. Make no mistake, if he can touch Hopkins, I think he can put him on the canvas, I'm just uncertain that he'll get the chance. Hopkins is one of the most disciplined fighters today....hell, he has to be. At his age, he can't afford to get caught inside by a young kid with reflexes like greased lightning. If the fight actually takes place, I'd give Hopkins about a 70% chance of staying outside and touching Taylor often enough to get a decision win and pissing off fans world-wide.
And I give Taylor a 30% chance of figuring out a way to trap Hopkins long enough to lay him out. I'd prefer to see Taylor win. Hopkins' time is over, he should've retired already and let the next generation move to the top, rather than fight the way he does, disregarding the entertainment of fans in favor of winning at any cost. To me, it seems like he's lost focus on what's important in the sport. Not just winning, but putting on a show for the people who put their money in his pockets, and to whom he owes his success.

:D HAHAHAHAHA
Some people are overly impressed with a big punch, that's all. They think that someone with alot of power will always beat a lighter puncher who can box well. It's been that way forever, and it's been incorrect for the same amount of time. There are circumstances where a one-dimensional puncher with alot of power will be a legitimate favorite over a more highly skilled boxer, but most who don't know a great deal about the sport, believe power automatically cancels out, or makes up for, skill, in every case, when nothing could be further from the truth. And what's really funny about the Tito/Winky matchup, was that all the clues were there for everyone to see: Tito's loss to Hopkins, his previous performance against Oscar...and when he fought Mayorga, he looked the same as he did before he retired. No changes in technique, still trying to win using brute power and little else. Like I said, all the hints were there, but most casual fans don't dwell on the fight enough to read them for what they are.
Thats a good thing man:D
It just changes the odds and you get more money:D

I don't understand why people are so impressed with young undefeated fighters. It was the same with Vargas against Trinidad, people gave Vargas a chance because was undefeated, but young undefeated fighters didn't face much quality opposition, and didn't have much fights at all. Of course Trinidad beat Vargas with his superior experience.
People that are on boxing like the guy on that TV should be better predicting (for example, more boxers picked Winky against Trinidad, but most boxing fans picked Trinidad).
