Anyone feel this fight might have hurt Trinidad?

hmm I hate it when people degrade a fighter so much after a loss. I rooted for Winky and am glad he won, but let's give Tito his due before we say he is not a great fighter. Styles make fights after all. We should praise Winky without having to degrade Tito too much. 1) Tito beat Vargas, and was the first to outclass him. Wright fought Vargas and drew with him (I scored it a draw anyway). 2) Vargas (after facing Wright AND Tito) gave Oscar a good damn go when they fought. 3) Tito beat respectable fighters such as David Reid, William Joppy, Pernell Whitaker (though on drugs and older was still decent). Tito should fight Howard Eastman.

Everyone knows that Wilfredo Gómez is the #1 PR boxer ever. Gomez was awesome and a true gentleman! :biggthump

lots of people didnt fight winky wright....even if thye would get paid more they still wouldnt but cmon! that's not what most people said when Tito took this fight. Last time I check, Winky was underdog and everyone was YOWZING impressed by Tito's performance against Mayorga! Tito fought Winky becuz he'll get paid big and he thought he can knock Winky out!

i think this fight does effect Trinidad's overall greatness. He will be looked upon as great fighter from now on, not one of the grestest in of all time.

no he will always be remembered as a guy who never ducked anyone..and faught everyone that wanted a piece.....No matter how bad the winky vs trniidad matchup looked he still took it......he ducks no one and he will be remembered as a great champ He had no reason to duck anyone. He always gets paid way bigger than any of his opponents and DK is his promoter!

Personally i always thought tito was very charismatic, but he was overrated as far as his skills were concerned. You can refer to the best tito's opponent thread. And this has nothing to do with this fight but lets face it... DLH, Hopkins, Winky, all good fighters, but essentially he looked lacking in skills in all of them. Even when he faced Whitaker, whitaker old, just coming off lay off and rehab for drug addiction, trinidad looked clumsy. I think his reeaaaal notworthy wins are over Vargas, (which was good) and against Mayorga who himself was a wild swinger.

Does anyone feel this fight might have hurt Trinidad in terms of his legacy?I mean he was totally outclassed.The same happen with De La Hoya,Hopkins but this was so far much worse.Alot of people might start to feel like the guy was very overrated after this fight.I love the guy as a fighter but man, he looked bad tonight. ooooooooooooooo yes ut did man
