Toney was on Best Damn tonight, he admits that he took it back in sept after booker fight. giving to him by his doctor to speed up his recovery. He wasn't due to fight until june, which it should have been out of his system by then. It had nothing to do with toney trying to get an edge on the fight. He was just better than Ruiz.
The roid use by James Deca-Durabolin (Nandrolone Decanoate) is phenomenal for tendons and joint lubrication / recovery. Often added with other steroids in a cycle to support the size & strength that your body will put on real fast like. Otherwise you risk time loss due to injury if you don't paste yourself. Having said that it is possible that James got injections to speed up recovery. People get shots all the time for thier back and shit like that. The detection time for Deca is 18 months. No I don't use, know or condone the use of steroids.
We'll see. This time Ruiz don't fuck around and try and box. He smothers Toney with the kung fu grip.
i would like to see how toney reacts to the holding. In the 1st round, when ruiz held toney, toney took a step back and knocked te shit out of ruiz, i wonder if he can do that the whole fight?
maybe so, but steroids for faster recovery thats very dangerous
but if it is prescibed by a doctor then it shouldnt be looked at like he was trying to get an edge on ruiz to beat him.toney could have taken a handful of sedatives and still beat retard,oh, i mean ruiz
come on people.nobody in here can actually think that toney took roids to beat ruiz.come on poeple.if toney had 2 broken hands and a broken foot he could beat ruiz.if toney took roids i think his body and stamina would have been in way better shape.he wasnt in good shape for this fight.so it couldnt have been stamina roids he was on and he is fat as shyt so it was any muscle building roids either.so what kinda juice was he on.people just dont like toney so they try everything to down him.he beat ruiz.ruiz should be ashamed of himself for taken the belt back.if he was a real fighter he would have rejected the belt and fight toney right away.but he wont because he knows this is the one and only way to get any belt again.
I think Vitali could beat Ruiz, but never underestimate the great heart of a true warrior like Ruiz. And at least Ruiz is the only fighter calling out Vitali constantly.
I think Toney and Ruiz should rematch to see if this last fight was legit or not.
yeah i wouldn't mind seeing Toney beat the shit out of Ruiz. Next time would be even worse because he'd be pissed off.
Are you kidding me. Toney is the biggest piece of trash in boxing today and would say anything to win. And he'd do any drugs he had to in order to win too. He'd probably smoke some crack if someone said it'd help him perform better.
Pretender you win, I am not going to keep arguing about this Toney situation with you. I am a reasonable boxing fan with unbiased opinions. Heres an example I am fan of James Toney, but if Toney was in a fight I thought he was going to lose I would simply admit it. If I thought Toney took steroids to get an edge over Ruiz I would admit it. But I don't believe that...I post what I truley believe is the truth... :D
Toney wont appeal failed drug test
May 13, 2005 - WBA heavyweight titlist James Toney appeared on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights and, in a televised interview with Brian Kenney, indicated that he would not appeal the failed drug test that transformed his April 30, 2005 victory over John Ruiz into a no-contest. Toney said the positive test result came from drugs that were prescribed to him by his physician and that he planned to serve his 90-day suspension and then resume his career. However, he almost certainly will be stripped of his WBA title, which will revert back to Ruiz. --Scott Shaffer
I think that he isnt disputing it shows he knows he was in the wrong. Going with the doctors excuse is lame as hell especially since he injured his arm last Fall and at most it would have taken 4 months to recover. Toney shouldnt have been on the juice during April anyways.
Toney knows he was in the wrong but still wont admit it and shows that he knows he was by not appealing it.
Toney is a douchebag, but I respect him for keeping it quiet and taking his punishment...
Trust me he knows he was in the wrong. :)
yeah it seemed to make good sense
I don't think James Toney would take drugs to try to get in edge on his opponent. He doesn't remind me of that kind of person.
'That makes no sense either. Toney should have thought about what defense he was going to make in the beginning. First he tried denial, then he tried admitting "medical" reasons. His deceptions prove the results were right.'
I don't think Toney's camp understands about false positives with nandrolone. The initial research came out in 2000 followed by more definitive stuff in 2003.
It seems to me if he was juicing , his camp would have a had a plan if he got caught....
will the shit talking peeps please engage thier brain.
what toney says on some show & the actual medical facts are
not the same.
if it seems toney has cheated it also seems the wba are a bunch
of d**kriding cheesy puffs who are happy to hand thier hw title
to ruiz time and again even though he hasnt fought anybody to
win it back. they dont even bother with title eliminators.
so until the dust has settled who really knows the truth
it's about time Kirk returnde to the ring
hes a real shining example....of how to not go about your career
hed still f**k up audley harrison though
then again as if audley will ever fight an opponent of his quality :D
hmm
Toney struggled for the first 6-8 rounds vs Ruiz and slowly pulled away. It's not as if he dominated. I was rooting for Toney and glad he won. No one can prove whether he took steroids for Ruiz or to heal from Booker, but it would seem to make sense that he took something for Ruiz because he was very fat and out of shape only 10 days before the fight, and he had a significant amount of steroids in his system to even test positive for the Ruiz fight. Believing in Toney just because you like him is pretty naive.
Toney is gettin' old and it is showing in any case. He's injury-prone and more lethargic than in the past. With that said, the best possible version of Toney loses to Klitschko, and the version that beat an out-of-shape Ruiz probably gets KO'd.
Anyone who thinks Toney will beat Klitschko is thinking with their heart and not their brain.
