It's on fightnews, Toney has been suspended and fined. Further more there expecting Ruiz to have his belt returned to him, the fight is now officailly a no contest!
Gentlemen,
Please do not blame King for this, nasty as he is he did not do or want this.
King was co promoting Toneys next fights, far more money makers than any ruiz fight, why did he want options????
Cause toney will win and ignite the division, this is bad for everyone bar ruiz which doubles its impact, but please remember he can still fight but not for WBA so maybe he will fight naother of kings hopefully byrd/
If King was doing anything untowardly it was probably a dodgy attempt to hush this up
My 2 cents

Listen. This guy is getting the Rodney Dangerfield treatment in the division. Just trust him, and I will gauruntee he will knock Ruiz out man. You have to just believe me.
Why believe you? We'll see him against Golota.
BTW, anyone wants to bet on Golota 2 to 1?
McKay backed out of a bet.
we need a heavyweight destroyer to come in and kayo ruiz for good

NEWS FLASH
Ruiz waiting to be recrowned!
Team Ruiz expects the WBA to enforce rule 18:23 (3), reinstating John Ruiz as WBA heavyweight champion following the NTSAC's decision to make the Ruiz-Toney a no-contest after Toney failed a post-fight drug test. "We are waiting for the WBA to immediately implemented its rule," Ruiz' attorney Anthony Cardinale explained. "It's as clear as it can be. We're glad the truth has come out and Johnny hasn't lost his championship."As usual, Ruiz' manager/head trainer Norman Stoney was not at a loss for words. "All I've ever heard was how bad Johnny Ruiz was for boxing," " Stone said. "Who's bad for boxing now? Toney's always talking about being a man. Well, he should be a man and admit what he did instead of making excuses. He can't talk trash about us anymore. Toney said he only fears God; he should fear the New York State Athletic Commission, too.....Toney shot his mouth off, talking a lot of BS and degrading Johnny. But who's going to have the last laugh? I believe everybody in his corner should be responsible, including Dan Goossen. They can make up all of the 'the dog ate my homework' excuses they want, but Toney flunked his test and they should own up to it."
The bold print is EXACTLY what Toney should do.
It's also something that occurs naturally in the body, and can be produced by various combinations of circumstances.Toney ain't stupid. Fuck the WBA, Fuck John Ruiz, and FUCK Don King. This thing ain't over by a long shot, but just in case, some prayers to St Jude may be in order!
Oh, and by the way, St Jude is a BIG boxing fan, and he LOVES James Toney! LOL!
He tested for nandrolone it is a very common and widely used and tested steroid. It is a surprise he was on that as that is usually the first steroid that they test for.

As weird as it sounds this is actually bad for boxing in more than one way. 1. It looks bad to have a boxer getting busted for taking sterorids. 2. Ruiz won't do anything but bring the sport down. The fan base of boxing will atrophy even more when Ruiz has his next fight. Nobody wants to watch this guy fight. I wish boxing was more harsh on boxers that purposely clinch. It would make so many fights so much more interesting.
damn
whata fukin chump
doubt theyll let him in the HOf now
i mean this is a real black eye for the sport
Personally I dont feel he should be in the hall but his achievments before this would have gotten him there anyways. But certainly this will be talked about for a while.
It hurts the sport but I am glad it happened in the heavyweight division as it is shitty as hell anyways and really couldnt have sunk lower then what it was before the fight anyhow.

What an emotional roller coaster it has been for John Ruiz. First he loses his title, then tells the press how bad boxing has treated him and annouces retirement, next he changes his mind about retirement, and lastly he gets back his title due to Toney testing positive for juice all in less than 2 weeks!!!!!Only in America!
According to Toney's statement, it was due to a doctor's medication to heal his damaged muscle which makes abundant sense (i.e., a steroid). I don't think Toney did any drugs (from what I have read so far), and I think Ruiz should fight (someone) for the title rather than given to him.
Of course they will say that, it was known Toney will cop out and use the medical excuse.
I have had a lot of injuries and doctors will give you substances similar to steroids to help you heal faster but the doc should have known that he wouldn't pass his drug test. Toney better get a rematch against the Ruiz.
Toney's lawyers will bring this matter to court. He might get the result changed back to a W. I guarantee there is going to be some litigation going here. People sue the sanctioning bodies all the time and win alot.
He will tell the court that he was taking the steriod to repair his bicep. If he can provide evidence of that, He will most likely win. This descision by the WBA is not set in stone.
