I was watchin the Maxboxing post conference of the toney/ruiz fight right now...
Then Stone was sayin how Ruiz wanted to retire right after the Roy Jones fight....then that Stone said he had to win the title back, then he said, "John Ruiz is done!"
Just wanted to let u guys know it came out of the guys mouth himself...I do feel bad for Ruiz though...
Hmm...I don't know about that.
How about Tyson and Holyfield?
Other then those 2 I mean:D
I mean out of all the champions right now
I don't think even 1 would make the 30 of all time
I don't think Toney is to credit for " ending " Ruiz's career. I feel he would have stpped down after any loss.
Toney is too hyped for the heavyweight division, he didn't show me anything last night. If Ruiz had played the hugging game, Toney would be on the sofa stuffing his fat face about now..not like he isn't doing it already..
Ruiz showed a great heart and he tryed so hard to change, I give him major props.
Toney didn't look so hot last night against Ruiz, I don't think he is ever gonna look good in the HW's. I am not saying Toney isn't a HOF fighter, because he is great, I just think he is outclassed in this wieght division.
Actually lot of people think Vitali sucks...
I don't think his good, I just think he would beat Toney...
There is no heavyweight today that will go in top 30 of all time
Hmm...I don't know about that.

If Toney is overrated, then Vitali is overrated. Toney has bigger wins against better fighters.

Lol, I agree with that too (just in an agreeable mood today I guess :D )
It's possible, but the guy is probably fed up with boxing. He never gets any respect and is mocked by fans and fellow fighters alike. I just hope he's made a lot of money.
It's weird..I never really cared before, but I hope he did too. He'll need it to get by on..I just dont see him making a career as a commentator.

Give props to Ruiz. The guy did a better job and tried to change his style so you haters stop bashing! Okay, Toney won the fight but it was not the beating that some of you pretend to talk about. In a rematch, I would give Ruiz a chance against Toney.
"He gave one of the most decent performances in his entire career last night, lost to a blown up middle wt. by 5 pt's and call's it quits?"
You've answered your own question Tracy. :D
He fought the fight of his life and still lost to an overweight middleweight.
Lol, sorta..but not everyone has the head movement and defensive skills that Toney possesses. He may do better against other opponets if he fought the same way (which is NOT a given)
And, the 10-8 rd. was bogus..Toney stepped on his foot and that would have altered the score a little too.

I feel a little bad for him too, oddly enough. He gave one of the most decent performances in his entire career last night, lost to a blown up middle wt. by 5 pt's and call's it quits? Weird  I'm not a fan of his and never will be, but I thought he looked better last night than I had ever seen him.
