I read a pretty interesting article on boxing central about this, and it said he would probably make one last run at the title like Rahman did. What do you think? I'm not sure why, but I'm a fan of McCline, probably because we share similar attributes. He sounded like his career was over after he lost on Saturday, just wondering what you all thought.
Which is why people need to learn to be a lot more hesitant when calling people the next big thing when in reality they have beaten no one to deserve such a name.
Very true, but everyone is hoping anyone with a decent record will be the next big thing.
I remember all the hype around Boswell, but I never even saw the guy fight or even seen the guy. He got thrown on a bill with Lennox Lewis against Klitschko and he was supposed to beat this guy???? Whaaaaat????
Their is a guy named Abraham Okine he is an up and coming fighter. I have seen this guy fight and he is incredibly fast and powerful for a heavyweight. His current record is 14-0 with 8ko's , his promotions company is bringing him up very slowly but I think if he continues his career he could get pretty big. But as with anything in the heavyweight division a bust is almost always a sure bet.
He got big again because Cedric Boswell was supposed to be "the next big thing" and McCline beat him up pretty bad and impressively knocked him out in the last round.

mcline should fight a guy like TOS and then fight brewster for the wbo... i dont see him losing either fight if he could fight his kind of fight.
Everytime McCline gets a title shot it is against a legit heavy. Byrd was to much for him really....Id favor McCline over Ruiz...McCline likes to hug and drag...Ruiz holds but McCline would drag and push him down....Good fight for McCline actually....
The weight is a problem. Does the guy really think he's in fantastic shape? He always looks to be in the same condition every time I see him fight.
"I don't need no friggin road work, my guns are 19 inches!"
Granted he is very muscular but he needs to lose the gut.
haha...yeah. I was thinking the same thing. First off, where in the hell did mcline come from? -- his win over Grant. That propelled him into the spotlight, and for the most part he has been fighting better competition since. I think Tyson has a realistic shot in beating him, but then again....its really a matter of "who cares". There would be little money in that fight, even though I was suprised Mcline V.S. Brock became a bigger fight than I had expected. Mcline could become a likely gatekeeper in the division from now on....ever since his "supposed potential" was tarnished. For a while there...he was actually being called "the next big thing" or "a new generation heavyweight". He is a decent fighter, but there really is no future as far as title unification goes for "big time" LOL.
I wonder how he ever recieved credit in the first place. Just look what Wlad did to him. Klitschko served up a mediocre performance, and still ended up destroying his ass late in the fight.

McCline is a decent heavyweight, if he could step up his temp and last the full fight he would probably be a top 5 heavyweight. He freezes up and chokes a lot and the reason he has declined was because of missed opportunity.
McCline still has potential.
A fight with Tyson would be nice for the fans. A win over McCline would finally restore some of Tyson's credibility and perhaps launch him into a big money fight with Vitali. It's sad but beating McCline would be Tyson's greatest victory in YEARS.

Hes is finished as a legitmate contender in my opinion, too bad he couldn't have taken Byrd out.
I agree with you 100%. This is a fight that would make Tyson work for his money and considering that McCline is a big softie I don't think he could hurt Mike. A good chance for Tyson to shake off some ring rust with little risk of getting seriously hurt or stopped. Still the prospect of McCline giving Tyson his first decision loss is very possible.

Considering Tyson`s state beating McCline is not a foregone conclusion. McCline is so big and is competitive, it`d be a good fight i think!

I think McCline has to think long and hard about his next move. He is out of the world title picture now and he is getting older. He should hope to secure a fight against maybe a comebacking Tyson or a Kirk Johnson. He shouldn`t fight bums and get caught up in a boring second teir career!
