Anyone else hear the rumor that James Toney is grossly overweight? If so, its really disappointing because I just want someone to kick the living hell out of John Ruiz so bad. An in shape Toney makes Ruiz his b*tch. An untrained Toney loses to Montell Griffith twice.
Just wanted to know what folks have heard.
alrighty genius, my predictions were as follows: Mosley UD, Brock UD, and Cintron UD, I got 2 outta 3 right, not only with the fighters, but with the outcome
you were 0 FOR 3, cry yourself a river
Buddy, it's you that has the problem with my predictions being slightly off the mark, not me. I couldn't care any less, it's not as though you're any better at predicting the outcomes of fights than me or anyone else. Picking a UD is a cinch, I like to live a little more dangerously than that, it helps in adding excitement to a fight if you're pulling for something to go down in a specific round.
I mean, if I cared even a little I'd have cleaned my sig before now.
You're just burnt over the Calzaghe bet, which was for your avatar. I would have owned you on a daily basis and you know it, so keep talkin' :D
 Mosley and Margarito both won you petty schmuck. If I could pick outcomes with the pinpoint accuracy that you seem to think is the norm then I'd be arrested.
You backed out. End of story. I dont care if you backed out of a real or 'make-believe' internet bet, you still backed out after flapping your gums about a fighter you know jack f. shit about.
It's cool though, I'd be pissed off too if my bluff had been called and my hand was dogshit poor.
Thompsonfan? I knew it, it was you who called me that before! Haha :bottle:

you got 0 outta 3 right, Mosley won by dec., Margarito by TKO, and Brock won not Little Time McCline

I never backed out of any bet, I don't bet on this site, i bet with REAL $ so have fun in fairy-tale-land ThompsonFan

Steady on Sac. At least I got 2 out of the 3 picks right. Picking McCline to KO Brock early isn't a farfetched notion, I just didn't count on Brock having the balls and smarts to gather himself after getting dropped. Do you always get every prediction right? No, you dont, what's more, I think if you were to predict as precisely as fashion of win and round ending, you'd cut your success rate tenfold, so dont get all holier than thou with me.
You're just a bitter little toad aren't you? Just because you backed out of a Lacy/Calzaghe bet after running your mouth about how shit Joe is.

great job on those predictions, you missed every one of 'em
and I'm guessing the other remarks are sarcastic so I won't comment

Toney loses a close points decision. He'll then break the habit of a lifetime and give a dignified post-fight interview, proclaiming Ruiz the 'better man on the night'.
Toney and ruiz will then embark on a lifelong friendship kindled by their mutual loathing of Roy Jones Jr.
ahhahahhahahahha

Spinksjinx,
Just wondering why you are picking Ruiz to win? I certainly think he could win the fight, but you seem pretty convinced and I am interested in your take on it.
Toney has some great skills but all his great skills are his upper body. To beat Ruiz you must possess heavyweight power, Toney doesnt fit that bill. To beat Ruiz you must have great footwork and fight on the outside. Toney does not do this, Roy did it and looked great but Toney isnt fast on his feet.
It is true Toney might have super fast hands and awesome upperbody movement but that doesnt matter if your feet wont let you get away. Toney usually fights close and counters you and this will play to his disadvantage.
Toney comes in trying to pick shots off of Ruiz and Ruiz will hug him and land blows and go back to hugging. In this fight Toney would need the best footwork he has ever displayed and probably wont show it. He likes to fight on the inside and always has and I dont think he will change either this time around.
Ruiz by Unanimous decision in a boring hugfest.
James is not a big puncher, nor has he ever been. His win over Michael Nunn was a great win from a great punch but he is not a banger in the hardest sense, especially when fighting as a heavyweight.
He will not rely on his power to beat Ruiz. James is a master counter puncher and oh so sharp with his eyes when it comes to slipping blows.
Power will not be at all what wins the fight for James, it will be his skill and his eyes.............Rockin' :boxing:
LoL ya
He couldn't knock out Booker but he was also injured..
He acts as if he could punch as hard as earnie shavers
yeah he talks too damn fast also, the guy can barely put a sentence together without flipping out....but I still say he's the funniest trash talker in the biz....after he KO'd Freddie Delgado, while watching the replay, Toney went on a great rant: "Lights Out, he didn't pay the electric bill" "Don King, can't touch this!" and plenty of other goofy remarks
yeah he is pretty funny, i like how he was cuttin up ruiz
toney has a huge head and i cant understand what he is saying cause he breathes so loud.

He's been always looking fat since he entered heavyweight division. No surprises if he would look like a moby dick on the fight night against Ruiz with his fat ass.
Again, this is just a very unflattering photo.
He's pushing his gut out.
He's not as ripped as he was in the past, but "Grossly Overweight" is a gross overstatement.
If Toney comes in below 230, he'll be fine.
