There were reports he ha da heart problem, but how would that just go away? There are also reports that he had a left shoulder problem vs Moorer, but does anyone know what it was specifically?
I know he got tired quick vs Moorer but it was still a close fight.
All the pieces fell into place. Holyfield was probably gettin a lil panocha on the side at those times. He looked tired. Maybe his heart or shoulder was bothering him. IMO, he didn't look healthy. Moorer IS a southpaw with quick fists who was the underdog with something to prove. Teddy Atlas did a good job in the corner.
All in All, i still think Holyfield should have kept his title that night. In the rematch, Moorer looked like a bum.
Yeah I know, but Holyfield looked much better in general vs Tyson. He looked more fit and threw more punches. Holyfield has success vs Moorer when he threw but did not throw often.
I think the real Holyfield perhaps showed in the rematch vs Mooorer.
Good point, I thin Evander was not only healthier vs. Tyson, but more focused and more motivated....the Tyson fight was Evander's Rumble in the Jungle, the fight that would take him from boxing greatness to Boxing Immortality
because moorer was better, moorer was in his prime and he also was great boxer. tyson was done, he fought bums that couldnt take punches and hit back. then holyfield who could take and hit back
EDIT: and then rematch tyson was better trained, he showed speed and power in round 3, could be a intresting fight if tyson didnt bited holyfield.
hmm
Styles make fights, Moorer is a flat-footed, counter-punching southpaw with a great jab and quick fists....Tyson was a short, bull-rushing righty who threw telegraphed punches....Holyfield's style was built to beat Tyson, but Moorer's style was crafted to outbox Holyfield and build points

when you fight a guy like Tyson who comes after you over and over again you have little choice but to fight at a high pace and eventually knock him out.
Moorer was much more of a plodder and therfore he changed the entire way the fight was to unfold...
You have heard it a thousand times...styles make fights, most times it is just that simple.
Didn't he go to Benny Hinn or something?
Way to be astute Jack, your right he did go to see big bad benny hinn and good old benny sealed that hole in his heart with a wave of his hand!
So the reason why he beat Tyson is simple....
BENNY HINN
