1. "Bad" Chad Dawson- 18-0, 11 Kos
2. Andre Ward-Supermiddle weight 3-0,1 ko
3. Jason Estrad-Heavyweight 2-0, 1 Ko
I've seen all these fighters fight recently and I'm impressed by the level of talent they seen to posess although their wins aren't against the greatest crop of talent, they still impressed me. Chad Dawson has incredible boxing skills, body strength, and punching power and saw him put on a boxing clinic in his last fight. As for Ward and Estrada, both participated in last summer's olympics, these two guys look like they could be serious contenders in the near future. What are your thoughts on these up and coming fighters? What are some other up and comers?
Hard to say with Dirrell. One problem with him is that I think he has a bit of a bad attitude. Not sure about that though. Maybe I'm just comparing him too much to Andre Ward, who is considered almost a saint in some circles.
Hard to tell too if Dirrell was just playing with his opponent and that's why it went the distance. I mean, the guy was a personal trainer, for christ's sakes...should have been able to knock him out. The one punch he did throw that did some damage had one of those Sugar Ray Leonard-style windups...not exactly something practical you could use against a quality opponent. I guess his movement and defence were good and that's what he's known for, but overall I still was not that impressed.
I agree actually, I was also not exactly raving about Dirrell after this weekend. He seemed to content to horse around and never really seemed to hurt his opponent. And is it just me or did he look a little clumsy at times when he was trying to slip punches?
"Irish" John Duddy, who is 9-0-9 KO'sbig ups, represent that Irish Pride.
and my boy Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi, who is the next Prince Naseem, you either love him or hate him.
On the subject of other up and comers though, anybody happen to catch Andre Dirrell this weekend on FNF's? And if so what did you think? I am going to hold off on my opinions for now, but I am curious for others...

If Estrada is the future of the heavyweight division, let's just say that people are going to look back at Lamon Brewster and John Ruiz with fond memories. ;)
ESTRADAS A BUM, AFTER HE LOST TO THE CUBAN GUY THAT HE BEAT BEFORE. HE DIDNT EVEN TRY IN A INTERVIEW AFTER HIS FIGHT he didnt care, he was just like oh well shit happens. I use to really like him before that.
I am sure this is not going to be a popular statement but mark my words- when Julio Cesar Chavez Jr finally decides to get in a real fight this kid is going to sleep! This one is over hyped...

Vicente Escobedo...that guy hits like a monster...
He will be good, he didn't get far in the amateurs, but thats cuz he has a pro style!
Vicente went to the olimpic games representing Mexico, that's getting far in the amateurs IMO. Great kid, I watch him fight a couple of weekends ago on the Barrera undercard, he won in 1/2 a round.
General question, how can I upload a pic to post here on this thread? I wanted to share a pic of me and Escobedo.
