what are people's thought's on michael Grant? did any of you guys believe the hype about him? i guess it just goes to show you can't win anything with no chin, the guy looked physically tremendous though,he looked like he was a champion, but was eventually found out against lewis
Give Grant credit for one thing. He has won two fights where has got off the canvas from being knocked down and gone on to win fights. Against Golota and against his last opponent. He was down bad against Golota, I did not see his last fight. He gets knocked easily but seems to recover fairly well from knockdowns.
I remember thinking Grant never knew what to do when he got hit. When he started taking shots against Guinn for instance, his defence would go to pieces and he'd drop his hands and walk into more shots. I think he was down to be fighting tonight but I don't know if it came together
maybe that to, he started well but after lewis knock him down once, he never came back, he was holding and didnt did anything just waiting to lewis knock him out. he got tyson´s mentality got chin or not but once they are down they never comeback.
i think ike ibeabuchi was suposed to fight him in his next fight, i don't think grant would have survived 12 rounds with him :D it just so happens that lewis got first stab at him, he was always going to be exposed anyway
I don't reckon it was his chin that was the problem with Lewis... More the fact that Lennox was a BIG step up in class, and picked him to pieces!

I'll admit, i believed the hype, the guy was 6'7" and 250lbs, with great athletic ability, and "supposedly" a granite chin, but we quickly found out that he couldn't handle the bright lights of the big events (or at least his chin couldn't)... I think a quality trainer may have gotten some great things out of Grant, Don Turner and Teddy Atlas are the 2 most over-rated trainers of our generation...Atlas especially, the way he degraded Grant after his VICTORY over Gilbert Martinez was shameless introverted BS on Teddy's part, and it messed up Grant mentally going into the fight with Guinn, I thought Michael would tear Guinn to shreds but the kid had no confidence by then, thanks to Teddy
I thought he was overrated when I saw him fight Savarese and he had trouble knocking Savarese out. Then he fought Golota and Golota exposed his big dumb-ass before Golota went into the fetal position and quit like a bitch.

i though he was great until he fight lewis. i though he could be new champ he had size, power and stamina. but he looks weak vs lewis
after that fight he showed no heart and chin. so until lewis fight he was great after that all went wrong.
