in finally saw the thrilla today.
god damn what a fight best ive ever seen, incredible amount of hard shots landing incredible work rate.
saw it with a friend who dont realy care about boxing and he just DAAAAAAMN.
ive falen in love with a figth, this fight.
i understand NOW why people talk about how shitty the hw division is now.
Man i need to get my hands on this fight on tape. :boxing:
the thing about the manilla fight was it took place around mid-day to accomodate american tv, the temperature in the ring was near 100 degrees. try fighting for 14 rounds in that. ali and frazier should have quit after that, they were never the same.
The same thing happened to the man in your avatar.

If you haven't seen Foreman-Lyle, then you have to, because that is the Hamed-Kelley of the heavyweight division,
Damn.. yeah. Foreman-Lyle, pure slugging, defense out of the window fight. That was a good one.
I've seen it, but I don't have it saved. Karma+Points to the person who yousendit a good quality version of the fight for me.
You ever use torrents jack? I could swear someone's already posted it there before.
As a heavyweight fight it's hard to top, though. I also like Holmes - Cooney quite a bit, though that's partially because the builup to that fight was so incredible and bizarre. I can't imagine what it must have been like to follow it live (I was alive but like 5 at the time).
It's rare that a good heavyweight fight lasts as long as these two. Bowe - Holyfield 1 is another one. Other than that you have the two other classic Ali fights from the 70s (Fraizer 1, Foreman) and not much else.
Ali-Frazier III is a great fight, but there are others that I like more. Fights like Trinidad-Vargas and both Hearns-Leonard fights. Still, the fight was very good although sometimes I felt it a little slow. Maybe I was not made for fifteen rounders. Anyway, I will watch it again and see if it ranks higher for me. I might actually change my mind.

Man i need to get my hands on this fight on tape. :boxing:It was heartbreaking when Futch wouldn't let Joe come out again.
Great fight. Their first meeting was a classic also.
I watched the fight, wasnt all that to me. I dont know, Ali leaning on the rope and Joe pounding away whilst Ali does flurries now and again just doesnt cut it. Its a great fight for a HW but I've seen lighterweights demonstrate much more.
hmm
If I'm not mistaken, that's the one where Joe is landing those VICIOUS body shots throughout the fight. Damn Joe was on a tear that fight and I don't know how Ali took it.
