I have heard that Eric Morales is looking to move up to the Lightweight division and challenge the Castillo-Corrales winner. I would be very disappointed as a Pacquiao fan because I am looking forward to the rematch and doing that would be stupid for Morales. First off, Jose Luis Castillo and Diego Corrales would both starch the smaller Morales. If you've seen Gatti-Gamache, you know what I mean. Number 2, Pacquiao deserves the rematch because the first fight was very close and a rematch without amateur gloves is the only way to settle the issue.
im sure morales cna make 130, that extra weight is from the guys suckign his nuts ( cause he was naked) and was messign with the scale. no thats a joke coem on, morales is 5'8 which is just fine for lightweight. the only thing is he wont be knocking out guys there he has to box, ya corales and castillo have suspect chins but he was staggered by pac and barerra, i strongley disagree he can take shots from corrales or freitas. i will root for him to outbox cass and castillo though

I am NO Pac fan. I was rooting for a Morales victory that night.
I'm only telling you what I saw at the weigh in, it was very suspicious. From Morales weigh in to the photo-op after the weigh in (Morales not getting on the scale with Pac).
They both came into the fight on Saturday weighing about 139/140 so I don't think Morales not being able to make weight is that big a deal seeing as how they were pretty much the same weight on fight night. But a lot of money is at stake in these fights going ahead, if he were to not make weight the day before the fight a lot of people would be out some major $$$$$, promoter, HBO etc.
All I was pointing out was that Morales can't make 130 anymore, that opinion is based strictly on what I saw that friday afternoon at the weigh in.
Never did I say that was the reason Pac lost the fight, where the hell did anyone come with that assumption anyway?
The subject of this thread was Morales moving up to 135 and my post was about how he can't make 130 anymore, nowhere did I say that's the reason Pac lost.
Also, why would it be far fetched to think Arum would fix the scales? HE WAS ALREADY CAUGHT DOING IT FOR THE MOSLEY/DLH fight!
lol..I wasnt referring to you and only you, okay? If you had only been around the past few weeks and read all the stuff we have, you'd have known right away that you werent a target..not really. It just seems that for every Pac loss, there is an excuse. I'll give him the eye..no problem, but the gloves were his saving (still think Morales would have ko'ed him in Reyes!) in my opinion. And, as you pointed out, them both weighing the same (more or less) on fight night makes the whole issue null and void.
lmao
ofcourse theres plenty of talent
and most are mexican or of mexican decent
not many filipinos
so much for the filipino-mexicn rivalry
demography, tradition, proximity to US, interest.
And there's plenty of other talent besides mexico. They don't have monopoly :boxing:
agree on th best weight for manny... he challenged erik at 130 because it was the best fight for him during that time... now i want to see him dominate the 126 lb division and lure the big dogs again for a rematch... there are still lots of talnt outthere that are overlooked because of the hype the four fighters are getting...

The excuses are terrible or even el terrible. LOL
Do not forget that Manny headbutted Barrera in their fight, and won.
This is Mannys only MAJOR victory over a great as well.
So there yiou go.
Personally I believe that he can be beat by JMM, Morales and Barrera in a rematch.
Strategy wise they simply know more.
You sound like you are whining a little bit there homie....
He didn't knock him down in the first fight because it was the first fight hoe, tarver didn't knock roy jones down in there first fight and looked what happened the second fight...Plain an simple it was a cool fight, but manny was clearly dominated with or without the headbutt, morales even switched up a couple times just to make it a better fight...This subject is dead pacquiao got punked and now morales is moving up, all the excuses in the world is going to take that "L" off of pacquiao's record...
let's see here, so now you're saying that the reason one fighter won't knock down the other is because it's their first fight... is this a popular folklore where you came from?
im not whining, in fact im an equal fan of both. but when you go saying EM will definitely KO PAC in 5rounds or less next time, and you have nothing to base this except a lone fight which lasted the distance, one fighter fighting w/ half his vision, then you are not a smart boxing critic.

well said my friend well said good karma is coming your way!! :)
Morales moving up? Pacquiao rematch off?
5 rounds or less? then why o why can't he knock down manny who's fighting w/ half his vision half of the fight? u still honestly think so? :confused:You sound like you are whining a little bit there homie....

Morales Career will end on the 19th. yeah right.
it turns out that you are acting as Morales' attorney. what did he give you in return? i know.... BJ :D

To be honest, I think I'll take a vacation from Barrera-Morales-Pacquiao mixup for now. I wanna see them fight other people, then off to the superfights again. Who knows, maybe an upset is on it's way.
u mean u wanna see pac fight other guys then them
cuz u dont want him to loose again

Morales can comfortably move up, he's earned it. He fought everyone there was to fight and the rematch with Pacquiao would be a loose loose situation for him as he already proved his point last month. It was a clear cut decisive victory.
He doesn't have to worry about Castillo cuz the latter would be moving up to 140 after the Corrales fight. He'll be competitive at 135, he had the size advantage at 126 and 130 so it compensates. Best of luck in his future matches.
i agree, there's nothing left to prove for morales in this division. move up, and look for greener pastures
"but that doesn't mean that there really needs to be one."
When does there "need" to be a rematch?
There is as much call for a rematch between Johnson and Tarver as there is here.
Again, a close competitive fight that did 350 000 PPV buys.
That warrents a rematch.

I could care less what you think.
The people who post here aren't an accurate reflection of how much demand for a rematch there is.
The 350 000 PPV buys speak for themselves.
If there was a rematch I would definitely pay to see it but that doesn't mean that there really needs to be one. The fight was competitive but Morales was in control throughout most of the fight. Pacquiao didn't do much damage to Morales that past opponents have done either. It's not really hard to bust Morales face up but he looked very clean after the Pacquiao fight and it wasn't the gloves either because Barrera used the same gloves in thier 3rd fight and was able to bust Morales up.
So you think you wanting to see a rematch means a heck of a lot because u dont got a Morales or Pacquiao pic?
FYI so far at least 2 of pac's biggest fans agree no rematch is needed. And yes they posted on this thread.
lol, give up baby! ;) It's too similar to debating with certain Klitschko fans, dont ya think?
