He would have knocked Lewis out. It is possible for him to fight if he gets out in 2007 but I doubt he will be the same. Apparently the same guy that helped get Tyson out of prison is also working with Ike now.
Is it not true we could say the same about Tyson as about Ike in the sense that if Mike had stayed out of jail, who knows how much better he would have been. He would have fought Holyfield 6 years earlier than he did; 6 less years of EMOTIONAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL wear/tear...the physical difference wouldn't be much I admit--Tyson was not yet shot for Holy I--and it would be offset by 6 less years of war for Holyfield (Bowe 1-3, Moorer, Foreman, etc). But I think there is little argument Tyson would have had a better chance to defeat Holy in 1991, not to mention Bowe and Lewis in subsequent years. Alas, what ifs....
Ike was a great contender, and a fight b/t he and Lewis would have been a spectacle, but again...alas...
whats the scope with him? Is he released and ready to fight again or is this a publistity stunt?
2007 at the earliest, it's a shame about Ike we will never know how good he could have been, that uppercut he landed on byrd was brutal
these pictures are from 2002. Ike won't even get another parole hearing untill 2007.
He is done. It is over. The only reason to ever mention his name is in the "What if" category.
