WTF was Morales doing? When he switched stances to southpaw, he started catching right hands that staggered him. He was slipping all over the place and getting nailed too. Does anyone understand why he did that? It didn't give him a better chance to hit Pacquiao did it?
One dimensional sure, but you have to give the guy credit for maximizes his gifts. And for working the right hand pretty well against Erik. But, in the end the right hand wasn't very effective, compared to his "one" big chance, that left.
Something that really shocked me in this fight was that Pac looked to have very shitty balance. In his next fight, his opponent will have learned how to be successful countering (ala Marquez & Morales) plus, he'll now have seen that a Pac that's backing up cannot throw at the same time (i.e. counter) because his balance is absolute shit. That's gonna be exploited, 'cause it always looks like you're getting popped big time when you're off balance while the other guy is throwin'.
i think he had bad balnce cuz erik kpet him off balance
he wouldnt really let him set up
and soon as he did set up
and threw his shots
erik would blockem
chasem down throwin him off rhythm
def has made best of his limitations
and i htink he should keep on
i dont like hwo they tryed to make hjim use his right more
its a good idea
but obviously not a good plan
if i were with him
id just have him do what he does best
its like gatti
ya he can box
but hes meant to slug it out
he coulda put leija away much fatser had he just fought him
he woulda imposed his size n strngth
like pac could imposse his quick hard left
He isnt used to a southpaw stance thats why he looked shaken up when he was hit and it was the twelth round so he was exhausted, i dont think he was hurt just off balance. Manny was shook up in the 10th so if "pillow gloves" could do that to him the Reyes gloves would have definitely put him down
morales said he wanted to spice up the fight. i didn't mind. i'd like to see him do it again.... all i know is that morales is a bad ass mofo. i'll always buy one of his fights....
hehehe what I meant was "WATCH" hehehe
it doesn't really matters at the final bell morales was still standin' erik that night was the better man and tha's final
live with it
Want carefully the last round BRO... Morales was hurt at that round but he definitely denied it.
TRUST the POWER of the PACMAN
hehehe what I meant was "WATCH" hehehe
I don't think Morales felt Pacs full power like MAB or JMM. Morales was able to not let Pac get the distance he needs to drop the straight left down the pipe like he usually does. But Pac hurt him to the body in the 1st round but seldom worked the body again.

pac should realize how lucky he is for not using puncher's gloves. if they were we wouldnt see 12 rds.
Morales will still use winning to protect his hands. Each fighter can wear the gloves they prefer

Well i watched the fight just now, and he seemed off balanced more than seriously hurt, he did that alot in the barrera fights when he got rocked, but he is like the young holyfield just when you think he is hurt, he stands up, but hey good fight and i am so glad Morrales won, i really don't like Pacquio
Just caught your post. Also just watched the fight again today.
That balancing act was bad lookin' stuff man. He seemed to keep funmbling backward and sideways until he touched the ropes, and then would start firing back, but until then he was ready for tagging.
lol
Thats what happens when ur one dimensional like him

It seems to be an unfortunate reality that Pac's legacy is quickly becoming one of Great Performances, followed by a shit load of excuses.
lol

Out on his feet my ass.
If it were Reyes Pac would been knocked out a long time ago.
Then we would be hearing about how Pac didn't have the right mouthpiece and thats what cost him the fight.
I think Morales would have used Winning gloves regardless.
i watched it again
and man
manny was hitten him
but not as much as i first thought
morales was nailen pac with lead right hooks and strait lefts himself
manny looked just as stunned as erik by the punches
only diff was erik started slippen in the ring a lil
but o ya
Erik Is def the Man!!!!

Morales figured out two things early in this fight. First, he could take Manny's flush left hand, or right hand, and stay upright. Second, and more importntly, Manny wasn't even attempting combinations to the head. Take these two things and mix-in Morales ability to recover from big shots and keep throwing, he could do whatever the fuck he wanted against Pac.
Stupid, yes. Brilliant, yeh.
Manny did catch him with a good shot.
He caught him with over 50 actually.

But if Pac had caught him with a good shot, he would have gone down, and lost the fight. It was a stupid move by him, but it ended okay.
