now that non ppv buyers had a chance to see the fight what did u score the morales/pacquaio fight? i thought it was a dominate performance by morales winning 117-111. i gave manny rds 1-9-12. in my opinion morales won on ring generalship since he dictated the pace of the fight, effective aggression and clean punching.
The wide array of opinions is proof positive that it was a close fight. I am only taking into account non pac fans and non morales fans. So far my unbiased observation in this forum, and others has shown that it was a close fight. A good number having the fight a draw tilted in favor for Morales. I believe a rematch should be in order to further convince the boxing public who is better. If Morales wins againts Pac again in the same fashion then Morales is the man.

Seen the fight live and 4 more times i have it exactly how u scored it everytime.
Chups those avatars are really destructive you know that? I come here to think boxing and I end up thinking women :)
I think Morales look more shakey in the fight than Pacman. There was the 1st round where Morales was very clearly hurt and of course the 12 where he was wobbling. I didnt see Pacman really hurt anytime duing the match, just got pounded. I think the gloves would have made a difference on the 12th round because Morales looked like he was gonna go down. However if they had used cleto reyes I dont think Morales would have given Pacman the 12th round opportunity in the 1st place.
The gloves shouldnt be used as an excuse but should definetly be used next time round, increases chances of KO's and people just love to see KO's.
The only glove question I have is how much more damage would the Cleto Reyes gloves would have done on the body shot that hurt Morales in the first?
Anyweyz, if Pac uses Reyes in the rematch, Morales will be using Winning. I say same outcome but who knows...

I've seen all judges scorecard. If we were to be bias towards pacman, it could have been scored a draw as they disagreed on some rounds. Still I think 115-113 was a fair score.
Commentary never bothered my judging. I don't like turning the sound off cuz I don't hear the punch's impact. It's funny cuz at times, I would hear one of the three commentators call a punch that was never there.
Anyweyz, I had it 8 rounds to four for Morales.
I watched the fight with no sound and to tell you the HONEST TO GOD"S TRUTH, the fight could have gone in both directions. I watched it with some hard core Morales fans and they agreed with me. If you listen to Lampley who controlled the calling of the action he built Morales up to look like Pac was nothing in comparison. Lampley was Consistenly talking about how much of a warrior Morales is and mostly ignoring what Manny brought to the table. Also when calling the action he called most of Erik's punches and used big adverbs to describe Morales' punches while he ignored alot of Manny's great combinations and big punches. If not for Merchant's voice popping up once in awhile to voice how close he thought the fight was, HBO would have had everyone believing that Morales thoroughly won. The decision was good actually. Most people want to believe that the fight was not a close fight and I just don't see some of the scoring you guys have. I would like to hear how a non Morales fan scored it.
I am non biased and watched the fight without hearing any commentary. I thought Morales controlled the action. Paq fought bravely but didn't do enough.

I was ringside and saw it 117-111 for Morales. I can see how someone scored it 115-113 for Morales. A few rounds were close, but I thought Morales controlled the pace and boxed beautiful.
i have it 6-6. i thought morales out scored pacman too. although i'm a pac fan, i couldn't disagree more with larry merchant on how he scored it. but after seeing it again. that fight could have gone either way imho.
Great fight - just what i like, lots of action but still a boxing match...
It looks to me like Pacquiao has the superior natural talent with that incredible handspeed and strong punching power, but Morales is just a much more solid boxer - he kept his focus better than Manny and seemed to control most of the fight.
If Pacquiao could really hone his natural talent some more, though, he'd be unbeatable.
