Yeah the fake celebrity action is weak, do you really think that Antonio Tarver and Burt Reynolds are homeys??? Would Tony Danza show up if he wasn't getting paid for it??? It's obvious why they show the celebs: its for the GIRLS. My wife & her friends only watched the big fights with me because they love to "people watch", she flipped out one time during a Mayweather fight because Jay-Z started cheering while Beyonce started crying (I think it was Mayweather-Corley) They had booger stars. I saw Samue Jackson, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, etc....Stallone connection!

I am fine with the added music and then the slow motion doesn't bother me, but when they cut to the fans over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. I fucking hate it. Ruins the whole shhow. oh that...lol cuz your watching watching then you see the wife and the baby lol like wtf!?!

I like it. I mean if you complain about the editting, well the fights aren't probabaly as exciting as any other fights. So no big problem in editing. It's like watching a rocky movie though. Like when Ishe went agaisnt Ahmend, I've never screamed at my TV like that.

I am diggin the show but I just notice that I missed it on subday, what happen? Turpin (the guy who committed suicide) fought and lost. and that's the last we saw of him.

Its not great but its decent and alot better than "The Next Great Champ". I agree with you on that one. It's so much more well budgeted than the Oscar Dela Hoya show.

i'm not concerned about not seeing the entire fight, that's what HBO, ESPN are for.... this is the only TV show about boxers and it shows that most of them are average joes not ultra rich idiots...

I'm liking the show, especially the drama aspect. You cannot "fake" the intensity of boxers, and the fighters on The Contender all seem very focussed and determined. That said, the competitions are stupid (dodgeball, wtf?) and the celebrity cameos are lame. It's nice to see boxing on network television. Watch the show.

Nah, the fight sceanes are awful. They cut away to the audiance every 5 seconds and you only get to see about 25 seconds of each round. The sound effects and music also detract from the realism. it's all way too holywood. But overall i think its a fun show, im enjoying it very much so far. Hopefully a show like this can help to build boxing back up as a sport in the states. It can't hurt anyhoo... Im looking forward to seeing Ishme Smith fight. He looks like the buisness (even if he did shit-out of fighting that Arab-Dane who sounds Puerto Rican hehe)

My favorite part about the contender is the fight sequences look real unlike The Next Great Champ it looked like a movie.

Its not great but its decent and alot better than "The Next Great Champ".
