imo manny looked like he wanted to stop the fight. the dr was asking him if he wanted to continue. his face said it all. he didnt. i think it was funny that when joe cortez was giving him the instructions, manny understood just fine. shit he was even asking joe questions in english. but when the ref asked him if he wanted to continue, manny said HUH? that shit was funny me and my boys we like HA he wants to quit. when they told him it was ruled cause by a cut. he had no choice but to fight on. i give props to joe cortez for not calling that cut accidental headbutt in such a bigtime fight!
I agree. If Pac was gonna quit he would have. He isn`t a quiter at all!
He said in the interview that he just couldn't understand, he knew he had to finish the fight. There are a few instances in the past as roy jones pointed out where pac has/has wanted to quit, he showed great guts and heart finishing the fight last night!
CHINGON .... fast forward to the 12th Round and test your theory about Pac "wanting to quit", you don't make sense.
Manny wasn't messing with Cortez when he mumbled "HUH". He had taken alot a big head shots since the instructions were given and his second language wasn't too clear in his head. There's no way he was pretending to not understand or whatever other "quit" theory you might try to build around any of Manny's actions last night.
Both Pac and Morales gave it all, with no sign of quit at any time in that fight.
I don't alway agree with you buddy, but here you hit it, right on the button ...

No way ! Manny fought like a tiger -- I do not think that a thought of giving up has ever crossed his mind.

i have no idea about what happening in the fight.manny would rather be killed in the ring than give up? what is the action of being a warrior and a quitter as you said. if it is true, why the referee let it to continue the fight? where the cut came from? from the headbutt or a big punch given by eric?
That wasn't a look of giving up but rather a look of pain and worry.
The author of this thread made it out to be that Pacman had a look of giving up.
The referee asked him if he wanted to continue; he listened closer and nodded his head. That's no way to quit. In the post fight interview, he said never in the whole match did he think of quitting, but he acknowledged/praised the Morales camp.

I am just commenting on the idea that Manny wanted to quit the fight.
Please! Manny has the heart of a lion. You have no idea how much pride a Pilipino has. Manny would rather be killed in the ring than give up. The 12th round says it all. Morales and Manny poured everything they had left. Morales won and I congratulate him and his fans for the victory, the better boxer won. But do not disrespect Manny and his lineage. The man is a warrior!

Let's give credit to Pac for standing and fighting till the end and withstanding all Erik had to give.
My hats off to Erik and all the Mexican people!! :boxing:
i don't get the point here... I did not see the fight yet, but as far as i can see the fight was a great, please let us not take away the greatness of this fight, by discrediting the figther for something that DID NOT HAPPEN!!!
Props to Erick the best p4p fighter ...
no i give him props for finishing the fight. but i think the whole thing of being in a big time fight like that, with cuts was too much for him. u got to show up too fight. you cant look for a way out. if he was then yeah i would say he is a quitter. if thats not true then my bad. i made a bad observation.
it's all good...but it is obviously hard to tell...Pac may have been in his own world...or discouraged (discouraged doesn't mean quitter)...he may have been worrying about the cut too much...blood in his eye...trying to think about how he could beat Morales...or something...and he very well could have been ready to quit...who knows...but for a man to finish the fight the way he did...blood in his eyes and still throwing bombs...that says it all...actions speak louder than words and facial expressions...there is a difference between wanting to quit (if he did, but no one knows) but finishing with determination and wanting to quit but actually quitting...
pac is no quitter...Freitas is...

Manny doesn't seem as a fighter who wants to quit, even if he got big beatings from Morales. He isn't Acelino Freitas qho quitted like a chicken against Corrales.
he had no choice the cut was ruled by a punch. he wouldnt have won the fight if it went to the cards and he knew that. shit arce didnt look like he wanted to quit with that big ass cut. if you didnt understand what he said when they asked him if he was ok. he said im ok dr im winning this fight. and pounded his chest. thats a true warrior!
so what is your ultimate goal here? to make Pacman out to be a quitter? it has been proven in the past that a fighter can still be considered one of the greats even if you say "I quit" during a fight...but Pac finished with determination...limited abilities...but with determination

everyone looks like they wanted to quit a fight at some point...we are all human and can get discouraged...but hard for onlookers to determine that...
he didn't look like he wanted to quit by the 12th round though...he finished the fight with an effort and that says it all right there...
