oh come on, the blood will get in your eyes, how couldn't you believe it? have you been in that before (having some part of your body that was bloodied?) that would lose some confidence in you thinking that you are wounded. and that cut was because of an accidental head butt. Sigh..what I meant by my post was that regardless of the cut, it would have been nice if just once the guy that lost would be able to admit that for that night, if ONLY for that night, he just wasnt the better fighter..and then I called myself niave for wishing something like that. and, for what it's worth, I'm one of these that couldnt help noticing that the headbutt happened to the center of his forhead, not the side. But, immediately following the headbutt, Erik landed flush on the side of his eye. And , to make matters that much worse, I dont go for the "gloves" theory..and Pac admitting in the post fight interview that the gloves had NOTHING to do with him losing doesnt help with my opinion either. He cant have it both ways..he said in palin English that the gloves had nothing to do with him losing (matter of fact, that's when he started with the 'eye' business) and I believed him. Im not going to change my mind now just cause it's convenient. Erik outboxed him..Manny thought he could ko Erik..Erik was the more skilled of the two, etc..A combination of factors is the cause for Manny losing. Considering that I have given Manny props for the fight he put up louder than anyone else here, you'd think you could have looked past my one post where I questioned his abilities to continue with the fight while having a cut above him eye.

merchant is a sad old drunk who has no idea about boxing. the only time he watces it is when he's working for HBO. in fact HBO suck all over.

The gloves may have helped pac a bit but on this night Morales was just the better fighter. Im a huge Pacman fan but i can admit it was just not his night. wasent the night at all he looked good just got exploited.

It was a close fight. 115-113 is fair but 116-112 or 114-114 can do too. Most of the rounds are close. EM will land the clearer and harder shots. PAC will land more combinations 3 to 4 in a flurry. one ot Top ranks broadcster had it even after 8 rounds the other one had Morales ahead by 3 pts. Morales won it IMO. it can be a draw of a wide margin for Morales if depends on the preference of the one judging the fight. CONGRATS to Morales and CONGRATS to PAC too for a showing a great heart and an even greater chin

I think Pacman should hire Golden Boy Promotions and fire Murad. Murad's has something behind him that Manny should know. Once he hit Morales with his best punches and all he got was a slightly stunned fighter in front of him, Pacman regretted every ounce of power he ever gave Murad Muhamamad. I dont blame anyone but Manny Pacquiao for what happened last night. Letting a promoter control your destiny and almost destroying it is just flat ignorance. I hope Shelly Finkel helps him get his shit straight. Manny would be alot richer than he would be now without Muhammad and he probably wouldve eek out a decision against Morales had he had the opportunity to use Reyes gloves. Please, dont anyone start an argument about how gloves dont make a difference. They do in all aspects.

I really don't think that the gloves were that big of an issue because who knows, Morales may have even KO'd Pacquiao if they had used the smaller gloves. The real excuse which I haven't really seen used here, or that much anywhere else is the headbutt, which is good. I'm not even a Pacquiao fan, but the fight was a lot closer in rounds 1-5 than it was in rounds 6-12. On the official cards its very likely that Pacquiao was winning on all three cards 48-47. After the 5th round Morales pitched a shutout besides the 9th where Pacquiao looked good, and the 12th in which Morales just basically gave away, so it really doesn't even count.

Only roach made a big deal out of it at first. Pacquiao said it wouldnt be a problem before hand. But now that he lost he is saying if he had the Reyes he would have won. :confused:

Pac was never shown the contract for the gloves, fucking MURAD signed it without telling Pac I don't see how Pac could have been held to a contract he didn't sign anyway. Even as a promoter or manager, another cannot bind someone else to an agreement unless they are their legal guardian or have power of attorney. Of course, although a hell of a fighter, Pac doesn't strike me as particularly bright, so maybe he thought he was bound by it.

me and my pops were watching this GREAT fight only to be distracted during the middle of the fight with merchants whining of how manny got tricked into wearing these gloves. COME ON!! this is basically everything he said during the whole fight Round 1-4: wow... what a great fight. both fighters coming on strong blah blah blah Round 5-6: morales' camp TRICKED pac's camp into wearing these gloves.. waaa waaa. another bullshit excuse. if they didnt like the gloves dont take the fight. Round 7-8: I have it 5 rds to 4. Round 9-12: I have it 6 rds to 5 for morales but it could easily go the other way for pac WHEN MORALES WAS CLEARLY WINNING BY MORE THAN 1 RD!!! That's literally all that he said. notice how quiet he was when pac was continuously getting stunned. Take a chill pill. First off, one could have easily had the fight scored close toward the end---EVERY SINGLE JUDGE DID, after all. Another thing, the glove thing was sneaky. Now, I grant you, I don't understand why the hell Pac's corner just didn't refuse to fight unless they got to wear the gloves they wanted, period. Finally, it was a great fight which Morales legitimately won by surviving a late rally by Pac. (Pac has no one to blame for himself for just standing in front of Morales and smiling for about 5 early rounds). Larry Merchant was cool as usual (but not always). Get off Morales' nuts.
