we all know that de la hoya gave trinidad a boxing lesson in that fight...and hopkins smacked him around for 12 rounds...its some rounds trinidad didnt even hit de la hoya..and the judges still gave him the round...who do u guys think beat him worse
Hopkins definitely owned Trinidad. It was the only time a saw Tito so damn frustrated. Even his dad don't know what sort of advice to give him. Though I don't know if Hopkins could give Tito another lesson, cause age could be a mjor factor "if" they were to meet for a second time this year. And I don't know if Taylor is up for that job, yet.

Well it isn't just how badly Hopkins beat Trinidad that seperates them. Its how they did it, Hopkins dominated the entire fight and still goes for the knockout to stop a robbery. De La Hoya wins 2/3 of the fight and then decides to let his historically good standing with judges finish it up for him. Bernard is an excellent competitor, De La Hoya tried to fight smart but relied on other people(judges) to win for him. The man who deserved to be Trinidad more ended up winning.

Aren't you guys tired of threads like this?? It's the same shyt over & over again just worded differently. It's obvious who beat him worse (Hopkins) Come on let's start talking real boxing!!!
Get more creative "Dino"

B-hop actually won and KO'ed him
the DLH fight was closer than that.
Of course the nod goes to hopkins. He stopped him after beating him from the opening bell. That fight left little, to no doubt that Hopkins is just the better fighter. I mean it wasn't one of those come from behind on the score cards to knock him out kind of things he knocked him out after winning every round. It's like he said, "I exposed you for what you are: a one dimensional boricua who's in love with his power, now time to go to sleep."
Hahaha..u hella funny man(karma+)
Borikua comes to the rescue!! Every time a thread says Trinidad, u in there lol.
"If Oscar decided not to RUN from the middle rounds on, he would have knocked out Tito late in the fight" LMAO...are you crazy he was running for his life...If he didn't run those last 4 rounds Tito would have catch him and knock him out..
You don't go to the FIGHT OF THE MILLENIUM and run like a little biotch in the championship round...
How would Tito have caught him and how would Tito have knocked him out? what do you base that on considering Tito looked flat out lost and couldn't find DLH to save his life.
I love how people act like Tito made DLH run when he never changed what he was doing. Dont forget DLH's corner was screaming at him you got in the bag.
You may be right, but the punches were not meaningful and in NO WAY could those rounds be given to DLH. Last four rounds were a wash in Tito's favor, but the first 7 were actually questionable.
I forgot what happened in the 8th round. I think DLH was on the bike.
The 8th round was actually won of the rounds I thought Oscar dominated.
As far as the whole Oscar didn't throw any punches in the last two rounds is bullshit.

Ok. I will say that Tito won the first round. Rounds 2-5 though....were getting ugly.
That is why Arum cried "conspiracy" with the judges scoring...because Lathan or another female judge (forgot who) gave the 4th round to Tito, and the 11th to Oscar. Oscar had Tito hurt in the 4th, and did not throw a punch in the 11th.
I thought Tito landed the harder punches throughout the second round. He started out landing the harder punches and ended the round landing the harder punches. The second round definitely was won by Tito in my eyes. There is another round I felt Tito won in the first 5 rounds but can't remember right now but it was much like the second round. All of rounds 1-5 were close but I thought Oscar did just enough in three of the rounds to win 3 to 2.
As far as the whole Oscar didn't throw any punches in the last two rounds is bullshit. He threw several punches in both rounds but just wasn't landing any while Tito would land the righthand while Oscar was running away.
The first five were not a shutout in my eyes. I had it 3 to 2 with the first round being very close to an even round. I usually give Oscar the first round based on activity but Tito landed the only meaningful punch which was a righthand. Oscar landed a few jabs and some pitty pat punches but both were missing thier punches.

The first five were a shutout..
and I was bordering on scoring one of the rounds 10-8 for DLH.

Delahoya didn't come close to "owning" Tito. Most of his punches missed throughout most of the fight. The only rounds Oscar dominated was rounds 6,7 and 8 where he actually landed some very good combinations. The first 5 were all close and the last four went to Tito on my card.
I found it funny during the Hopkins vs Trinidad fight when you could easily tell Trinidad was very frustrated in about the 6th round he decided to do a shuffle only to be pelted by a few punches from Hopkins.
