Hopkins Vs. Taylor Not Even Close

Felix Sturm deserves to my opinion a title fight against Bernard Hopkins. I've seen some recent fights of Sturm and he made a positive impression to me. He was unlucky against Oscar de la Hoya (Welcome to the American judge system!), but I think he certainly has a chance to give some troubles to Hopkins. It could be a very interesting fight.

Taylor is just being smart one or two more fights well help him alot. He will learn alot in his next few fights and then he can go after Hopkins. Taylor will only learn something if he gets in the ring with someone decent enough and who is not going to be knocked out easy. If he gets in the ring with the same people it will be the same outcome as always and he will not learn a thing.

he got his belt stolen by a fool who is money hungry then that fool goes and loses it, and he is ranked i think top 3 in every belt and even some number 1 rankings that was their plan ya know... hopkins and dlh's plan

sturm deserves the fight but he will get killed by hopkins who is a real middleweight, not a blown up welterweight who looks like he ate too many donuts. Taylor will also beat strum but in a closer fight.

Sturm's jab was more effective than any hook, cross, or uppercut thrown by Oscar. Funny thing is....I don't even remember Oscar landing many of those shots either. the compubox stats and the end of the fight also looked biased :x to me that is

I am by no means DLH's biggest fan but I actually had DLH winning that fight by one round. So when everyone flipped out over the decision I rescored the fight and came up with the same result. There were a lot of close rounds and I don't think it was a robbery. But I could see where people could have scored the fight for Sturm. There were a few hard rounds to score. Also, I didn't score the jab as an effective punch most of the time. He did land several good jabs that snapped DLH's head back and he won a few rounds with it. I just wasn't as impressed in some rounds with Sturm's jab and run strategy. I know I am in the minority but I hold to my guns that DLH actually won that fight. didnt score the jab as an effective punch? what fight were u watching

Not for Felix Sturm (23-1 11KO’s). Not only did Sturm suffer an unfair decision in the afore mentioned fight, he has now been put on a pay-no-mind list. Why is this you might ask? Well Sturm was to be a stepping stone for Oscar de la Hoya in prelude to his mega dollar showdown with Bernard Hopkins last September. In the meantime Sturm had plans of his own; not only did he prove to be more than a tune-up, at least as far as I’m concerned, he bested Oscar de la Hoya that night. Unfortunately for Sturm, to make the big money fight with Hopkins, De la Hoya had to be in the blue corner and not Sturm. Because of this, Sturm was dealt his first loss via unanimous decision, all three judges scoring the bout 115-113 in favor of De la Hoya. Because of his impressive performance against De la Hoya, Sturm has now been determined to be a dangerous fighter, in fact, too dangerous. Because Sturm is still a relative unknown in the United States and dangerous, no top-flight middleweight will face him. A fight with Sturm is viewed as a no-win situation, not only will he bring you nothing more than an average payday, if you defeat Sturm you defeated an unknown, and he is too difficult an opponent for anyone to ensure a victory against him. So the big names ignore him, they act as if he is not even there. In the nine months since his “loss” to De la Hoya, Sturm has been hoping to get a call against a big name opponent in the United States to prove himself again, no such luck. Instead he has been forced to fight quality, but not world-class opponents, in his homeland of Germany, going 3-0 with 2 KO’s since the De la Hoya fight, while capturing and defending the lightly regarded WBO Intercontinental Middleweight championship in the process; with his most recent victory this past weekend against fellow German, Bert Schenk (36-2 23KO’s) via devastating second round knockout. I am sure Felix will now go back to waiting, waiting to hear from the likes of Bernard Hopkins, Felix Trinidad, Winky Wright or Jermain Taylor. Why does he deserve this fight? Sturm hasn't done anymore than anyone else in the middleweight division.
