Here are my precious six who I will never root against...
Manny Pacquaio-the guy is just too much fun too watch...he could turn anyone into a boxing fan.
JL Castillo-still the most underated fighter in the game and I guy that I will never cross.
Kostya Tszyu-either him or JL are my number one guy right now...I hope they never fight because I don't know what I will do.
Oscar Delahoya-there are barely any fighters out there whom which you can say that you have watched every fight they have ever been in as a professional from the first fight to the last...this creates a bond and some serious loyalty-very unpopular in many circles on this site but I will never root against the Golden Boy.
Joe Calzaghe-call me an idiot which I am but I love Joe and think he has all the tools...very few share my view but one day he will get a big fight and he will show everyone...I will be proud to say that I was a Calzaghe man all along.
Vitali Klitschko-If Ike came back I would have to dump VK and I think the jury is still way out on Peter but I want someone to rule the division and I think he is the only heavy out there at the time that is capable of doing it. I will root for VK against anyone at the present time and I don't see that changing for a while...certainly the softest pick of the six for me because there are scenarios where I would jump ship but I am on right now.
Lastly the "goes without saying pick"...Arturo Gatti...I don't think Gatti is really that good and everytime he fights I want him in a war but I will always be rooting for Thunder to pull thru...he may be a b+ level guy but I am very happy that he enjoys "A" level money now-no other fighter in the game deserves the money/respect...etc as Gatti-his career should have been over years and years ago, lets hope he can stay in the limelight for a couple more years!
The fisrt boxer i ever watched and when i saw him I loved his style even though i didnt know a damn about boxing: The Prince Naseem
RJJ- likes to put on a show
Mike- the cannibal
Manny- always gives exciting fights
Arturo- tons of heart
Kostya- my Russian brother with the same name and awesome power puncher
Mayweather- another fighter who puts on a show- "Patriots"
FIGHTERS I WOULDN'T ROOT AGAINST
Manny Pacquiao - The Arturo Gatti of the featherweight division. Never a boring fight.
Arturo Gatti - don't need to explain.
Mike Tyson - don't need to explain.
Kostya Tszyu - very powerful and a very classy person inside and outside the ring.
Miguel Cotto - just very fun to watch. A perfect combination of fighting and boxing skills.
FIGHTERS I WOULD ALWAYS ROOT AGAINST
Juan Manuel Marquez - he'll counterpunch his way through victory *yawn*.
Cory Spinks - hit & run, u fag!
Antonio Tarver - this arrogant c*nt is too full of himself.
Ricky Hatton - overhyped and untested.
John Ruiz - enough of your pay-per-poo fights.
Bernard Hopkins - don't give a damn about the fans, he'll fight his fight no matter how boring it gets.
hmm
1) Roy Jones Jr.
2) Oscar De La Hoya
3) Manny Pacquiao
4) Vitali Klitschko
5) Jose Luis Castillo
6) Leonard Dorin
7) Vassily Jirov
8) Winky Wright and, Kassim Ouma, as long as he isn't fighting Winky...lol.
Arturo Gatti -
Jose Navarro - got completely screwed over in Japan
Fernando Vargas
Shane Mosely
Miguel Cotto
Johnny Molnar - a relative of mine who some of you have probably seen.
1.)Roy Jones Jr.
2.)Floyd Mayweather Jr. (The truth.)
3.)Mike Tyson (The most popular heavyweight to ever fight.)
4.)Bernard Hopkins (The ageless wonder)
5.)Sam Peter (maybe the next big thing in a division what is very desperate for something big.)
6.)Oscar De La Hoya (even though I doubted he'd win the Hopkins fight.)
1.roy jones jr... dont care if he got KO'd again id still cheer for him
2.evander holyfield...useless right now but one of my all time favs
3.virgil hill...well except for the jones fight, under rated will go into hall.imo he is easily a top 15-20 lightheavy all-time
4.pernell whitiker...prob the guy who made me really like boxing
5.zab judah...got crazy skills
6.joel casamayor....a tough fight for anyone, i thought he beat castillo
Pacman, Corrales, Sheika, Hopkins, Mosely, Vargas, Mickey Ward
lol, arent some of them in the same wt. class? What if theyre fighting each other? I think both Mosley and Vargas are middle wt's, arent they? And if Pac moves up, he'll be in the same division as Corrales, wont he?
Felix Tito Trinidad (my second favorite fighter of all time)
Joel Casamayor (willing to fight everybody but everybody reluctant to fight him)
Juan Diaz (fellow Houstonian)
Rocky Juarez (fellow Houstonian)
Miguel Cotto (since I first saw him fight I thought he was something special still do)
That's about it others depend on who they are fighting.
1) Kostya Tszyu
2) Felix "TITO" Trinidad
3) Jeff "LEFT HOOK" Lacy
4) James "LIGHTS OUT" Toney
5) Diego "CHICO" Corrales
6) Arturu "THUNDER" Gatti
OH, and just for sh&ts & giggles, the ONE FIGHTER i hate and will absolutely never ever ever ever root FOR, COREY "I Run More than a marathon runner" SPINKS :-) Say what you want about true boxer blah blah, he's just flat out boring to watch, except when Zab is knockin his ass OUT
1) kassim Ouma
Not only do I like this guy, I dont think there is anyone who can beat him in the ring. At least not for the next 5 years.
2) Erik Morales
Only being exposed to MAB, does not prove anything. Especially about weaknesses.
3) Chris Byrd
There is nobody who can beat him. Wlad may have the best shot, but a decision will never be awarded to him, unless he proves he can take the title from him.
4) Kostya Tszyu
He is extremely dominant. Though I may never truly root for him, I wont bet against him.
5) Vitali Klistschko
I might not understand the point of this thread, but I take it as fighters who you wont "BET" against. He is the king of this category. Im picking Rahman to win, however; I dont think he will in reality.

#1 bernard hopkins (a grandfather and defensive genius, having made twenty title defenses and not touched the canvas for a decade, nor has he ever been cut. has the ability to be calm in the ring and utilize his ring intelligence with his reflexes and counterpunch ability, effectively eliminating himself from the majority of the risks of the sport, while forming his own legacy, winning against every man he faces. I'll always be in his corner...)
#2 kasim ouma (reminds me of marvin hagler. he's all about war. travels and spars at many different gyms, and is highly adaptable to anyone he faces because of this. insane punch output. he comes to get it.)
#3 chop chop corley (he supports his dead brother's 10 kids by puttin his ass on the line..you gotta love a guy like that...)
#4 gatti (he's displayed the heart of a warrior on more than 5 occassions, and welcomes war with any man who stands in the ring.)
#5 sanders (his majestic technique/hip swivel and handspeed is an attribute of a lifetime of golfing, any fight he's in, I root for him, however he is a truly a good example of wasted talent)
#6 luis rivera (this is one of the toughest journeyman underdogs with a bad record in the business)
fighters that have quit that I always would root for:
foreman
holmes
benn
1)Morales
2)Vargas
3)roy jones jr
4)Tyson I watched him growing up...
5)Barrera
1,2,5) They represent use mexicans and fight hard for there fans...
win or lose
Interesting question! Okay, I'd have to go with:
Holyfield (as long as he'd retire after the win!)
Gatti
Morales
Casamayor
Mosley (liked to have killed me when he fought Forrest cause I like him too!)
Thats all I can come up with right now
