rocky juarez is over rated IMO. he still hasn't taken on any top 15 gyz. all these gyz are like 33-7, he needs to take on sum good gyz. against raheem, he KD in the 2nd, but the 3 point deudctions were dum, and most thought that the scorecards were pretty in accurate as it is. A rematch of that would be nice. or for juraez to take on a contendor.
im a big juarez fan myself and i dont think that he lost that fight to raheem. imao raheem has a style that is difficult for rocky because he is very fast & a good counter puncher. i remember hearing in the pre fight that they had fought before as ametuers and raheem beat him then. i think he has that style that will give rocky problems every time they fight
Jeff Lacy, Miguel Cotto, Calvin Brock, Samuel Peter, Jermain Taylor, Kermit Cintron....plenty of young guys on the verge of being superstars right now.
without a doubt
and just like juarez
they all seem to be taken their time
which is good
but lim just sayin its hard to wait for all them to finally fight the top guys so they can stake their claim

i dont wannna wait!!!
i want my next boxing superstar nowwwwww
why do we have to wait????
i want the next big thing now!!!!!!!

Sad, but true! Very good point ;) Most fighters take it 'safe' when theyre still young ...which Rocky is. Why rush him into taking a stupid fight..as in a fight that's not right for him at this moment? What's the hurry? Give him time to grow and improve, just like most boxers do.

I think Chi is the perfect opponent for Juarez and I think he will beat Chi. Even if he beats Chi I have a feeling everybody saying he will lose will say that Chi was made for Juarez which I think he is.

Sure, Chi has a style that Juarez could LOOK GOOD AGAINST, but Juarez' bread & butter, his punch, would be wasted on Chi. Chi is straight-ahead, but he's also a busybody who happens to have a good punch himself. It'd be a damned good fight, to say the least, but I can see Chi just bearing down on Juarez & KO'ing him late.
"hate barrera the boxer"
You are my new best friend & confidant. :D
Seriously, though, give Juarez a little break. No one had a perfect upcoming. NO, I don't think he can beat Injin Chi right now, but truthfully, I don't think he'll beat him two years from now either. Chi's too rough & hard for him. It's not about experience, just styles. Chi is too much for anyone at 126 not named Pacquiao or Marquez.
Chi is tough but he's nothing more than a straight foward banger. Juarez is more than a banger and I think he will beat him. You say stylewise Chi will beat Juarez but Chi's style matches up perfectly for Juarez style to beat. He will be there in front of him all night. If any style will give Juarez trouble it will be movers with a long reach who know how to use it.
man i didn't mean like as a person, i meant as a boxer from a fan's perspective.
eg. i hate barrera the boxer, doesn't mean i wish he dies or anything
im jus sayin he hasn't fought legit contendors, and hes not going to last. give him chi or sumin and he'll lose
guaranteed

Juarez is an impressive prospect, but I don't think he has the experience to beat a tough customer like Chi. He didn't even beat Z. Raheem. If he can pull off an upset and beat Chi, he has to give Raheem a rematch
Rocky Juarez ain't overrated.
You know, given his youth & relative lack of experience, I'll give him a pass on the Raheem fight. The ref fucked that fight ALL up, and Raheem's dirt wasn't helping either. Don't stigmatize the kid because he fought a competent fighter who knew ow to take him off his game. Give 'em a rematch, with a different venue & referee, and Juarez wins.
Hate Him!!!!!!
What reason would there be to hate a guy like Juarez? I mean the guy doesn't talk shit about his opponents and comes across as a nice person so why would you hate him? If it's the fight against Raheem then that's really not his fault. The blame should go on the ref and Raheem himself for making the same mistake over and over.
Hate Him!!!!!!
Why on earth do you hate him? He's a real decent, stand up type of guy...has real class, and the sport is in a severe shortage of those types of personalities. The more "good guys" the sport can get the better!

Yea, i though raheem won the fight. But Juarez is constantly getting impressive, especially last night.
Tarver's style gave problems to Roy when Roy was 34/35. This Roy has dramatacially less footwork than the young Roy, and that's the main difference.
I have my own polls on boxingtalk (they HATE Roy for the most part) and 80% thought Roy won the 1st fight.
Plenty of people thought Roy was slowing down, even since the Woods fight...but they also thought that he was able to get away with it at that point.
2.5 years later, after losing muscle to come back to lightheavy, he wasn't able to get away with it. Roy is only human after all, but fighting him at 35 and fighting him at 25 are two totally different things.
Problems or not, prime vs prime, I doubt 20% of anyone on this site would pick Tarver to win.
I'll never forget my first post here and all the negative feedback it got! I said that Jones's name won him that fight, a fight that deserved a draw at best. I'm just one of these that dont see him (or never did) as 'super human' and/or the best thing that ever happened to the sport. He fought alot of deadbeats and was never really tested (his chin) so we'll never know how well he would hold up under good, solid, flush punches. I can admit that he was a great fighter..just not the best I ever saw.
hmm
And its amusing that nobody thought or said that Jones was 'old' until Tarver beat him. I still think Tarver's style was the problem for Jones, and would have been regardless of when they fought. Just my opinion, of course
