I would love to see Cotto against Corley again but if he can rather fight Vivian on June and then the winner of Gatti/Floyd I wouldn't blame him..
But you agree with me, when i say
that the toppage was unfair??
I wouldn't mind see them fight again, but I prefer to see Cotto against Harris next and then take the winner of Gatti-Floyd...After those two fight he should go up to 147..
yeah but Cotto has to finish Corley out
and sht all the critics from last fight first.
Cotto was winning but the stoppage was completly uncalled for.
a lot of these puerto ricans that post on here have no clue about guys like corely, because they don't get to see him fight, or are unaware of his survivability rate. I know cotto is a big thing there, and it hurts to know he isn't the golden boy you all thought he was, but I've gotten into two arguments now with two different PR's and it's because they both said cotto would ko corely, that is funny shit, I've seen every fight Corely's been in since he turned pro
never gassed out, never been ko'd,never even been wobbled like he wobbled cotto. so just stick to lurking and learning before you make an assumption such as 'he was going to get ko'd'.
this goes for iwatchboxing as well
Respectfuly,i gotta disagree.First off Im not puerto rican,so thats not where Im coming from, but I think the only reason it was a competitive fight is because cotto let it become one by fighting a stupid fight.I give corley credit for being a smart enough boxer to see how cotto was open and wobble, but as became clear,he couldnt KO him, I dont why, cotto looked like it was light out,but if corley couldnt do it then,It leaves little doubt in my mind he could ever dominate cotto If cotto fought smart,Now,if this was a sign of how cotto plans to fight from now on,then i give a huge advantage to any of his future opponents,i think that wobble could have happened earlier in his career if he had fought then like he fought saturday.
Corley was going down he was down got up went down to avoid getting hit again and Cotto was most likely going to finish but i agree that call sucked. Everyone is making a big deal about that punch but the fact is Corley is a southpaw and it was a big well placed punch that was unseen. Also Cotto never got hit like that in other fights because he is usually much more cautious. And one final note the first knockdown was legit and Corley was hurt and hee took a long time to rest. Cotto must hit hard, because Corley can take a punch and he was hurtin bad. ;)
ya

I'ma go with Harris on the fight, he's a kronk fighter and gettin trained by emanuel.
Harris will KO Cotto!
GO HARRIS
Yeah, I have to admit, that was the first Corley fight I have ever seen, so I don't know a whole lot about him. I do think he was still in the fight big time though, and that was a fucked up call the ref made, you could see he wasn't hurt, hell Gatti did the same thing against Ward, amd then got beat around the ring after he got up, and not a word was said from the ref, why the inconsistency?

I give him credit for landing the liver shots, but up until that point, he wasn't exactly having his way with Corley, it was still a competetive fight. I think Corley was running out of gas, but he hadn't yet so who knows.
Are you serious? If that stupid ref didn't had stop the fight Cotto would had KO/TKO Corley within the next 2-4 rdns..
Thanks for proving how much you don't know about Corely, or the fight.
Watch it again and then edit your post.
cotto would ko him........he would slowly break him down this time then ko him in the later rounds...but you cant take back that punch by corley......the boxing fans that love to see fighter fall will not forget that
cotto would KO corely, who zab (a harder puncher) couldn't ko?
:bsflag:
Cotto is another Samuel Peter, in the sense that his power has taken this far, but when he goes in against a fighter like him that isn't a true Junior Welter, and has some skills, he loses. He just gets hit too much to do that to a skilled fighter that weighs what he weighs. It was the liver shots that did it, before that happened, I was sure he was going to get knocked out. In fact, I'm still convinced that if Corley had really gone after him, he would have been KO'd. I think Corley was about half scared that Cotto was playing possum.
I would like to see him fight Sharmba Mitchell first. :boxing:
If anyone thinks he had trouble with Corley.
He would have a major tough time with Mitchell.
Mitchell would KHTFO, regardless of his age. He's way too slick.
