We don't get to see the fight until friday in England. Was this an impressive win for Cotto? or for the first time have we seen his weakness, how good is cotto's chin?? Was the weight a problem for cotto?
In my opinion he shouldn't fight in P.R. ever again. That crowd played a huge roll in him coming out fighting recklessly the way he did. He'll be fine, This was definitely a learning experience for him. Nothing wrong.
good f*cking point. because of the crowd he seemed like he wantedto put on a show for them. first you win the fight, then you put on a show for ur hometown. wreckless abandonment of defense was cotto's problem in his fight with corley.

i agree, also Cotto got hit with a couple clean chin shots and he walked thru most of them. I really thought after that temple shot with more than 2:00 left Cotto was gonna get Koed Corley didn't take advantage though. the ref robbed us from seein the rest of a good fight
he was also carless and reckless, and he still stayed up
nothin rong

Judging from the fight and the fact that he got rocked by a guy smaller than him and can't punch, I'd say his chin isn't very good.
What is up with this chin shit!! The kid got caught right on the temple. Again it doesn't take strong puncher to hurt someone there.
i thought it was pretty good
but after seing him get hit in the Corley fight
im having some doubts
he looked out of it for the whoile round,
his legs where shaking and shit
Corley didn't expose anything new at all!! Cotto reacted the same way any other prize fighter would react if he was clocked on the temple. This should create no doubts what so ever. No one is immune to a shot like that.
You sure that was directed at me? I said anybody who got hit with that shot would have stumbled, you say the same thing...Im confused.
All you need to read about this cat is the custom name under his username,CLUELESS DICKHEAD, SAY IT ALL! This guy is just another fucktard that's here to start shit!
you are a douchebag for making this thread, then again what else comes out of where your from, dumb fuckin heaves who think they know it all and pollute the boxing world with shitty hometown fighters.
say 'how well can cotto take a punch' otherwise you have a bunch of shitheads claiming 'it was a temple shot, omg his chin is still iron'
you people are faggots that claim that
Your a fuckin idiot
you dont think that it was a premature stoppage? Why not?
Corley took a knee, none of the three shots fired from cotto landed when corley took the knee :boxing:
I never said don't i said do, check what i put first
Cotto's chin is very solid. Like a bunch of people stated the punch Corley caught him with was to the temple, anytime you get hit to the temple you are going to lose your equilibrium.
Kepp in mind that Cotto would likely never fight this style of fight again. He's normally a very solid defensive fighter that keeps his chin tucked almost the entire fight. He wanted top impress the home crowd by wowing them with a slugfest and it almost backfired. If Cotto keeps coming into the ring at that size, I see him being a signifcant force. Although I think Harris is a bad matchup for him. I think Cotto would be best served to fight the smaller guys, Harris is not a little 140 pounder himself.
After reviewing the fight for a second time, I definately seen it in the temple....
Someone stated earlier Cotto always slugs it out in his hometown but outside of Puerto Rico he isnt as aggressive at such an intense rate. Cotto better pray he doesnt get in their with Vivian or it could get UGLY.
u must have never been in the ring in your fucking sad life
a shot with both fighters leverage coming in like that doesnt matter where you get hit, tard, your goin down.that was the hardest punch of the fight bc of the leverage, if cotto got smackd on the jaw he wouldve done the same thing, dont fucking post if you dont know what you are talking about, this goes for all of you, dont post if you are a clueless ape like this guy.

i think the weight loss may have affected him, he looked so bad at the weigh in, i was very shocked.
Of course his chin may be bad but i don't believe it is, i think he just got caught on the button when his mentality wasn't correct.
I think he tought he could walk through Corley and it looked like he might in the 1st so out went the defense and thinking and in came the ricardo mayorga twin swinging for the fences for the KO.
He got caught being careless, i actually thought he did well not to go down cos he was OUT, his legs were fucked, he showed good instincts to grab like that.
To me it looked like he was getting back on top in the 5th and well too, but i do think it was a bit of a premature stoppage, it did look to me like it was becoming a matter of time though and cotto wouldn't have made the same mistake as he did in the third, Corley look tired too which surprised me.
It'l be very interesting when Cotto goes in with a well known banger, but having said that, he'l prob keep his chin embedded on his chest and look awesome again!!!!
Cotto does have some very good punch resistance, I just saw the fight myself, but then again it wasn't from a heavy-hitter and he did get wobbled, If a harder puncher landed that shot...Cotto would have went to sleep.
P.S. What the hell was Corley doing throwing those soft bitch punches up close?
Yeah that is exactly what I said (view post on pg 1) the shot was on the temple, not the chin, but he was rocked for a good minute :boxing:
Just like the shot Roy took from Glen Johnson. It rocked his brain more than it did his chin. hitting the brain and shaking that up a bit will make your whole body wobble...All part of the nervous system, started at the brain and went right down his spinal cord.
A GOOD MINUTE? Cotto was out the whole round.
it seemed to me that the shot was around the side of the head and therefore that reaction was not down to him having a bad chin. All the great fighters woould have react6ed similarly
