As much as you guys dont want to compare him to Cotto, alot of the media who saw the N'Dou fight say that this is not the guy who fought Judah. They say that he was switching from right hand to left the whole fight and it seems very natural for him. They say that he has tremendous power. They said that Cotto and Mitchell couldnt really hurt N'Dou but Witter dropped him twice and had him hurt several other times and all this with a broken hand. The said that his style and power makes him a threat against any top guy in the division. You Cotto fans might not want to admit it but this guy might have more goods. Dont get me wrong. Cotto can clearly do more things but in boxing you dont always need to be able to do everything. A guy who can go from left to right with good speed and has tremendous power is a threat and I would love to see him and Cotto in the next fight
Just a minor point here, Witter is not a Warren fighter he fights for Mick hennessey, secondly how can you be portectedif you are thrown in with the then light welter champ at a weeks notice? THATS SACRIFICIAL NOT PROTECTED.
.
My appologies, I always thought he fought for Warren.
About the Juda fight, remember, Juda only had a week to prepare for him also. The only advantage Juda had was that he was expecting to fight somebody. If Witter wasn't in shape its tough nails for him, a fighter at that point of their careers should always be ready to fight.
How can he be over protected? A couple of tunes ups after a loss is typical....but 15 bums in a row? They were the sacificial lambs.
Dosen't matter much now, he proved himself with N'Dou. Good for him, he will make some great fights. But lets be real about it, his people took their time with him.
No man, you and baya are on my pm list for this one. I'm having to put it in a zip folder as it's big, even broken into two. (The entire file comes to 1.3gb, though you can shrink it, obviously).
Thats a lot mate.
I tried to upload one without success, it was only a highlights clip but Witters head was SO HUGE it pushed the file size over 1gb(Joking :D)
Did anyone see the fight or was it just UK broadcast btw? It started earlier than scheduled so I missed the first two rounds, but I can upload 3-12 if anyone's interested.
An upload would be great, i didnt get to see the fight.
Any chance of a PM when your done mate(or is that too cheeky??)
Sure, you'll have to give me a few hours, but I'll get it done.
Does anyone have the Zab fight, incidentally? I've never seen a bad performance from Witter, so I'd be curious to see that.
thanks a lot dude! sorry but don't have that zab fight.

i would love to see this fight. i remember seeing the judah fight ... awful to say the least. but witter has made a huge buzz and wanted to see this fight that awful fuqqin night on saturday. even in his loss to judah, the high lights and shit around it, i was kinda impressed w/ junior. would u please put that up for me?
Golota`s had fifity chances that we know about...appartently before the first Bowe fight there were reports of Golota having a very dodgy history in Poland, he got into bar fights etc...He`s had his share of luck!
But i agree, Witter deserves a world title match. i`d love him against Tsyzu, you never know, younger man, slick boxer style....
I didn`t see the Witter fight but from reports of the win only a fool wouldn`t count him into the mix. I think it wouldn`t be too daring to rank him in the....top 12 Jnr welters at this time and if all goes to plan he`ll be fighting the winner of Mayweather Vs Gatti!
If Witter remains focused he will be able to make a bit of noise at 140. His best bouts would be against Cotto,Hatton and Gatti. Hed get mauled again if he rematches Zab and Mayweather and Tszyu would pick him apart too i think

its his performance against Zab that has held him back with the Tv companies such as HBO cos he stunk the place out.
he has been rebuilding himself since then from a boxer / mover to unorthodox puncher.
He is a different fighter from when he fought Zab.
This is Witter's chance now to be a main player at 140, I have no doubt DLH will deliver the big fights fo him, they should aim for Gatti or Harris. Gatti is always open to shots and cuts very easy, Witter would take advantage of this and would stop Gatti. Harris is a bit of an unknown quantity we don't know how good he is (claims everyone is avoiding him), but he did get outboxed by Ray Oliveira, He's in the same situation as witter there both looking for the big fights could be a good move for both of them.
From what I've seen of Witter he has pretty good power,(so did Naseem Hamed), He moves pretty good very unorthodoxed( like Hamed), He takes dangerous risks and shows a lack of quality defence (Like Hamed), imo put him up against a good technical fighter like Cotto and we'll see a heavier version of Barrera/Hamed. But as with Cotto give him time and he may surprise quite a few of the top guys, like I said he seems to have good power so there's always the punchers chance against anybody!

Did you make this thread because you like what you saw in Witter, or is it that you just dislike Cotto? This is the second thread you have made hyping Witter and bashing Cotto.
I'll tell you what I honestly think. Witter had a alot to prove against N'Dou and he did in fine form. He went from being an overprotected Warren fighter to a real contender with this win. I think he is on his way to make some great fights that he has a chance at winning. With that said, he still has a bit to prove. After losing his first step up with Juda, he fought an endless string of nobodies....then showed good with N'Dou. Now he has to show he can maintain that composure....I think he can, but I'm not 100% certain.
To compare Cotto to Witter is apples and oranges. Cotto chose to box N'Dou and he did very successfully. It was the smart way to fight N'Dou. Witter choose to be the puncher he is and tried to take N'Dou out....and it almost cost him the fight because he waisted his hand....would Cotto have taken that risk? NO.
Is it fair to say Cotto is the smarter fighter? Answer that.
It dosen't matter much to me, Witter impressed me and I always thought Cotto was good. I would like to see them fight.
For the first time ever,I agree with you. ;)
Witter signed with Goldenboy Promotions, which will do nothing but help him get to the top by getting him the best possible fights.I think he should challenge the crybaby of the division WBA titlist Vivian Harris, who I think is overrated due to his experience against World Class power punchers.I think Witter would give him or any 140pounder a run for their money with the exception of PBF and Zoo of course.
