Fresh from the Hopkins vs Eastman fight and here we are divided into 2 groups. We have those looking for a satisfying slugfest win from the fighters in the left and posters content with a tactical win on the right. Where should compliments for a chess match of a fight start and where does the overrated craving for a win through a war end? I think Bhop did what he had to do regerdless of how he did it. He's still a winner reaching #20.
What do you think?
I like watching Hopkins too, the Hopkins that fought from rounds 6 to 12..the one that fought from rounds 1 to 6 did little more than run and hug. What can a person learn from that, exactly? You'd be surprised how many time I've been put down for saying that I love a tatical fight..but last night I didnt see one til round 6.
gettin to the fighters head... get them frustrated... and it work for hopkins that night... and yea i get critcize to from my freinds when im watching a tactical fight... they be like... how can you watch this boring shit?...
too bad most of the public dun feel the same... i like watching boxer like hopkins... i can learn alot of different techniques... than juss watching a brawl... even tho i like watching em too...

You can learn alot from those slow-paced fights..
If you're a fighter (mostly apply to boxers) you can appreciate fights like that, but if you're like the majority of fans, fights like that make you want to change the channel..
if only everyone on the board could see things this way.
i always took you for this type of a viewer, jack. good post.

I love watching a true technician ply his craft..any day. But I dont like watching one run. I'm happy for Nard making it this far with 20 defences, especially at his age. I was just a little disappointed with him running. I understand its good to use the ring, and to use footwork, but what he was doing for the first 6 rounds was something entirely different. Maybe (hopefully) his next fight someone will be able to cut the ring off and make him fight more.
Yeah, alot of people talked about how Hopkins vs. De La Hoya was so boring, but I kind of liked the fight..
