Alot has been said about peoples champ manny pacquiao's 2 losses. Some say he can be stopped since he was KOed in his losses while others say he doesnt have a good chin like Erik Morales since his defeats to Barrera were by SD.
I doubt even the pac fans know the real story behind Mannys two losses. His first loss came at the hands of Rustico Torrecampo when he was just a scrawny 17yr old. During the weigh-in Pacquiao was over the limit so was ordered to wear heavier gloves by the promoters. According to them it would balance the fight since it would lessen the impact of pacquiaos punches. During the 2nd rd, Pacquiao landed a left hook to put Torrecampo to the canvas but was barely able to beat the count. AS desperation sets in for Torrecampo during the 3rd rd, he throws a hail mary punch that landed on pacquiaos chin. Pacman never got up. Pacquiaos camp desperately asked for a rematch but Torrecampo having tasted the power of pacquiao avoided another confrontation and after a year decided to hung his gloves at the age of 25.
Pacquiao won his first belt when he was 19 when he beat Thai ring idol Chatchai Sasakul (whom i believe was the best fighter to come out of Thailand) by KO at round 8 to win the WBC Flyweight title. Although I personally think he was taught a lesson in technical boxing skills by Sasakul.
His next loss was inflicted by Medgoen Singsurat at the age of 20. Mannys body was fast growing and couldnt anymore hold the scales at Flyweight. During the weigh-in, Pacquiao was again over the limit and was stripped of his belt. He lost the title even before stepping a foot inside the ring. At that time, he was the sole champion from the Philippines, leaving the flywt division and reliquishing the belt would mean that his country wouldnt have any world champs, thats why his handlers tried to overworked and dehydrate pacquiao in a futile attempt to make the limit. Fight time came and Pacquiao was destroyed by body punches in the 3rd rd. He lay on all fours and it was clear he had no energy left.
Pacquiaos next fight was 3 weight classes higher at Super Bantamweight. His trainer was afraid that he would lose his advantage of punching power in the lighter divisions but to everyones surprise Pacquiao became even stronger after fighting in his natural weight. His KO percentage was higher than ever. He was then brought to the US where he met his trainer Freddie Roach who taught him how to throw his straight left at wicked angles and improved his defense. The rest is history.
Nobody can beat this guy as long as he's fighting at his comfortable weight. Now you know.
So, you want to talk about his last fights hah...
What about his fight with Barrera? He whopped Barrera's ass... even MAB's brother was in tears when he decided to stop the fight....
Now, most of the Mexican fighters are avoiding Pacman like a plague...
And one tough guy comes in El Terrible... I salute this guy, at least he has the balls to face the Pacman... unlike the other two Mexicans...
can't blame them though, they tasted a real punch from a real man...
I also saw Manny holding so much in the first half of the fight. That is why Nedal was throwing him around like a rag doll.Your kid should have been disqualified first.
Was that the same fight you were watching?
Yo dude..true..manny does go head hunting way to much and leaves himself open to big shots because of it, if he is fighting a boxer type of opponent.Maany doesnt need to box morales to beat him but he cant get crazy or carless..i mean i even hate morales but respect his skills so any manny fan (which i will be if he can ko morales, what can i say the gu is exciting) should be able to respect morales also...umm what i would do if i was manny is to try those uppercuts which he won his last fight on but come in from EM's side and manny should keep his hand up while doing it cuz erik will counter punch witch will be what causes manny to lose probably,we know erik can ko manny what is left to see is if manny can ko erik, think he can but erik boxing wont give hima a chance, the later into rounds this fight the more if a chance that manny has to get KTFO or lose a UD/SD
its simple. Manny's style is most effective when he go forward. but Manny cant realy keep his gloves defensively while giving the quick combos can he? nobody can. this is why he is required by Raoch to keep on doing his head movement with a combination of quick feet. in this way, his opponent will definitely have a hard time catching him. unless his opponent is quick enough. but i dont see that quickness in EM. this is why JMM seemed to be the toughest opponent for Manny. its coz JMM is also quick, has power in his punches and has a great timing. That's why i can see EM getting frustrated in this match when he tries his best to catch Manny and fails to do so. he will lose his patience, concentration and confidence that will make him feel exactly how MAB felt about Pacquiao.
And did anyone see how un-sportsmanlike Jeff Fenech was too? Throwing plastic bottles to the crowd? He was lucky the crowd were not as violent as he was, otherwise, he would have been KO'd himself.
For what holding? You said it your self, he was being thrown aroudn like a rag doll so obviously the holding never held. You'd actually dq a guy for holding over a guy who elbows, tackles, hits after the break? Pfffff Come on man, come off it. I'm really starting to think you never even saw the fight. It's like you have a personal agenda gainst this guy....Again, NO WAY IN THIS FUCKING LIFETIME Nedal was ahead on points. And if you think this was worse than Chavez-Whitaker, lol then ok. Just shows me how much you know.
This is a tough one to call since i have the utmost respect for EM skill-wise. If Eric sticks to his fight plan and doesnt engage Pacman in a slugfest then he should win this by decision. I dont think Eric is the stronger puncher no matter what he said in his interviews. He threw everything he had at MAB in their last fight and Barrera never got KOed. Maybe hes not as strong as before anymore. Skill-wise hes great. Power-wise hes just good. The doctors diagnosis: Pacman by TKO at 8.

Sounds like his first KO loss was legit by your own words.
I never said his first loss was not legit nor his second for that matter. I just mentioned that he wore heavier gloves than his opponent's.
Damn, you get my respect for having the sense to admit that. 50k of points coming to your account courtesy of me... :D
Manny is the best fighter in the history. He will kill anyone he fights.
Thx for the points!! :D
Ok u win. Never mind about that fight. it is very true that Manny is a clean fighter and I like that very much. I guess Nedal was being dirty cause ha doesnt like to get held.

About the Nedal fight...
BrownBomber, I like Nedal's tough as nails approach and I respect his trainer Jeff Fenech but Nedal kept making it a garbage street fight. Manny was still the busier fighter and the better tactician. Don't make a big fuss of the KD at the 4th. There were moments where Nedal was in trouble (even with all the dirty tactics turned on) and the judges saw this too.Hey, a lot of boxing writers like Manny's clean, stick-to-the-rules approach done with his aggresiveness. If Fenech felt they were cheated in the Philippines, then the feeling is just mutual. We saw how much Nedal cheated whenever he and Manny clinched and we wanted the ref to throw his butt out of the ring way before round ten. I can't bring myself to have sympathy for Hussein after that fight.
Morales will start the fight cautiously, boxing and maybe holding inside to avoid being caught cold.
Then we will get to see if Pacman's got a good chin as the overhand rights from Morales starts to find a home.
We all know that Morales is a tough SOB, and that he handles punches really well, so I refuse to belive that Pac will be able to blow him out early. It will be interesting to see if Pac has developed any kind of defence since last time I saw him, cause if not, it's bye bye paccie :D
(to all you pacfans, I love watching Pacman, he's truly an amazing fighter, but I've got a lot of questions that needs answering)
wow i had no clue
mooks is mannys dad
and
brown bomber is chavez dad
u can both be very proud of your kids
hahahaha LOL abdiel2k3.. they seem very proud

K, slow count or not I still don't see how you could have given the decision to Hussein let a lone compare it to a debacle ala Whitaker-Chavez. I saw that fight 5 times and no wayyyy and I mean no WAYYYY he was ahead. NO WAY. Count them punches, count which landed I don't care all I saw more elbows and dirty tactics from Nedal than clean punching. And wtf was that hitting after teh bell? kid should have been disqualied. Anyweyz. Again based on activity and landed punches, no way I could have given that to Nedal. But if you saw it differently then fine that's your opinion. I just can't see it....at all

I understand that every one can see their kids threw different eyes. He has guts but that fight was wrong man. Just like the Chavez Pernel draw but this was way more obvious.

seriously? Manny was getting his ass handed to him off that one knockdown? Based on activity alone it would have been enough. If you ask me , kid's got guts to keep the attack on, round 5 through out after being kd in the fourth.

Yes but the count was reversed. You can her the ref saying five on the way to six and then he says four and started counting real slow after that. The thing is that it slow counting does happen but it was so obvoius that they cheated by reversing the count and the worst was the BS stoppage of the fight in the tenth round, and then giving Manny a TKO WIN!!!! Manny was getting his ass handed to him by the much, much stronger Nedal. I bet that would be the last time poor Nedal even thinks about fighting over there.
