Man. I was watching some videos of this guy and he can PUNCH! Where does he get the power?
Yet another fighter proves you don't need muscles to be powerful. I mean the guy looks like a fat guy at a hot dog stand. His hands are very quick so I guess he just went for speed like the old fashioned fighters. Damn.
I'm used to be underestimated because I'm not all bulked up. It can be fun :)
That's interesting the way the majority of people believe hypertrophy is the key to having a big punch, (normal people always have some kind of fear for the 'swolt guy'..funny stuff) when having large muscles is actually detrimental and makes you far less snappy and slower, what good is strength if you can't deliver it? Not to mention after about ten hard shots those huge muscles are going to be contracting heavily, the more muscle a person has on their body, the faster they will gas out.
The catapult was the strongest weapon back in the middle ages, but if you couldn't get the weapon somewhat close to the target, then it's completely useless. same logic applies to fighting, regardless of how strong you are, some kind of speed is required in order to deliver the damage.
im not seeing that punch round 6 right? u mean where lewis had vitali arms all tied up and was leanign back dragging him and klitschko with lewis;s back to the ropes?shit. now I'ma hafta find the fight and watch it again. I wonder if I've seen too many and am getting them mixed up in my head now. Punch drunk from watching fights?;)
At the end of the round before Vitali was stopped, Lewis hit him and sent him stumbling backwards almost all the way across the ring on the ropes.
Big Klit does have a good chin, though.
As for Sanders, he's just bull strong, naturally, and he knows how to use his weight in a punch. 2 guys at the same height and weight are not always going to be equally strong.
I can understand him. I'm a natural, non-buff 225 and I can hit like an anvil. I'm used to be underestimated because I'm not all bulked up. It can be fun :)

Also, he was able to rock Vitali. Vitali has a freaking chin of steel. Lenox hit him with two shots that would have decapitated most heavyweights and he didn't get wobbled. When Corey slipped the straight and nailed Vitali with his left, I made that "Ooohh!" that had to hurt sound.

Do you remember where you saw Vitali say that?
i dont think he said that but just look at vitali's face in round 1 after that punch he was hurt maybe not seriously bad but hurt enough
....Yeah the guy is a phenom. I could see more than a few guys(who do not follow boxing) making a big mistake with him in a bar. He doesn't look like much but damn can he punch. Vitali admitted well after their fight that he was badly hurt on two occasions by that left hand. He and Wlad both say that Sanders left is like nothing they have ever been hit with.

Corrie Sanders is one of the most underrated fighter in the heavyweight division. I saw him busting Wladimir Klitschko several time and couldn't believe that. He indeed got a sniper left hook who can seriously injured every fighter. A couple of years ago he faced Hasim Rahman and dominated that fight till he ran out of gas and was knocked out by Rahman. I hope he will deserve a chance to face one of the current Heavyweight champions, especially The quiet man Ruiz.
Sanders was losing that fight.

Hmmm he simply is a natural wonder, he aint that muscular but he is quite big 6.4 and 235 (225 when in shape).
But he gets his whole body in it and at lightning speed.
Elv. He is big yes but the klits are bigger so why should it be so hard for him to do roadwork?
It makes me sad thinking about what a fighter he could have been.
The most astonishing thing about Sanders is that even when he weighed 225 or so pounds he still wasn't that lean. He probably weighs about 190-200 lbs of lean mass. His power and speed would be even better if he could work down to 215 or 220 again, but it's likely a metabolism issue.
foreman
ibeabuchi
tua
tyson
wladimir
Tyson certainly doesn't hit as hard as Sanders. Tua and Ike might be about on par with him, and Vladimir is probably not quite as powerful. Foreman hit harder than anyone I can think of, except maybe Shavers.
It's said that muscles actually slow you down. So if a guy with muscle can't hit hard plus is slowed down, he's throwing patsy punches. You actually can punch faster with less muscle ripped physics as Sander's and you know the saying that Speed Kills. So Sanders is able to get a lot of power out of the speed he throws his punches. Especially in the heavyweight division, it's quite astonishing. The only problem I'd say about not having the muscle ripped physic is that he probably can't take body shots and maybe runs out of gas faster. Though this again proves what a great sport boxing is. It shows that power comes from within and not from how you look.
