When I first signed on today most people were being really mature and normal by saying things like Zab fought great, he deserves respect now and on and on. Even the users who don't like Zab were saying I take my hat off to him, he took the fight to Spinks. But then what I expected happened I started to see an increase in these type of comments: the fight was fixed, Zab's a punk, he is a low life and all that crap. What Zab did last night was a great moment for his career he fought the champion and a sold out St. Louis crowd to win the championship and won it. He wasn't a punk, he was very professional from beginning to end. If anything you could argue Spinks team were acting like punks: Spinks dancing around in front of Zabs team before the fight, Kevin Cunningham making gestures to Judah before the fight and talking crap at the press conferences. When for this event did Zab do anything that made him a low life, Pedro Fernandez from Ring talk radio even complimented Judah's professinalism through the whole event. I think I have just come to the conclusion that now matter what Zab Judah does he will always be considered a low life, punk and a thug by most people. Which is too bad because I don't think that what he is, I think he is an extremley skilled fighter who hasn't even peaked to how good he could be. I can see it now Zab beats De La Hoya and the first thing someone says on this site is remember the dance he did against Tyszu.
I think Zab is a skilled and talented fighter but he has some serious emotional issues to work out. I think that anyone can improve and I disagree with those who claim that Zab is going to carry his nasty attitude with him for the rest of his life. However, until he straightens up his act I will never be a fan.
You guys talk as if Spinks was the shit or something. Spinks is highly overrated. Judah should have won the first fight, but his silly antics cost him. The only real welterweight he's fought was Tszyu and he was obliterated. Now the real test comes for Judah. I here he's calling out DLH. That's good if he's looking for a big payday, but bad if he thinks he's gonna beat him. His title reign will not last long in this division with DLH and Mosley in the mix now.
How can you say Spinks was shit and was overrated? Nobody rated him highly and he was UNDISPUTED champion aside from Hopkins no other man is/was that in boxing right now. I dont see how anybody can disrespect a boxer for getting in the ring let alone an undisputed champion who had a few high profile matchups and boxed beautifully. Just cause you hate the style dont take any credit from the man, his accomplishment is highly achieved not to many become Undisputed.

Zab Judah beats DLH no way. I am a Judah fan and it was a great win against Spinks, but DLH would out box Judah, judah would not get past DLH's jab, DLH is a different class to spinks and judah.
DLH would win ko 4. easy nights work, do you remember what he did to Gatti.
With Zabs explosiveness he could bring De la hoya down to his size. De la hoya has slipped so much and it showed in his last 3 fights its not even funny, I dont think it was the weight that effected him but rather him declining and moving to a lower weight wont help it. Oscar's last great performance was against Vargas (if you dont count the punching bag yori boy campas) While he is still better than most, he is to old and I would give any top 10 fighter in any division a crack to beat DLH at THIS POINT in his career.
De la hoya isnt he same fighter he was a few fights back and it wasnt the weight that effected him.

Zab shouldn't care what people think about him. He just needs to take care of his business inside the ring. Public figures are always going to have their haters no matter what they do. So forget about the haters and just do your job and win fights.
i agree, bro. zab did his job as a fighter well done. determination to win uplift himself, forget what people saying about him. now he crown as a champion again, just do your job...zab. haters are still being haters because they didn't like you...
Did anyone notice how Spinks was dancing while Judah was blasting him on the ropes? That shit was funny
i know judah must of hit him real hard, had him dancing with judah, but he was avoiding some extra punches..
zab's from the streets... and he will always have that mentality of being from the streets...
Just cause your from the streets is no excuse for not having respect for others, or for carrying on like a spoilt child. There are plenty of people in this world who have had it worse than Zab Judah who are more man than he will ever hope to be.
"Some people say I'm cocky, some people say I'm arrogant, but Floyd Mayweather is the truth. He's the truth."
-Floyd Mayweather Jr.
People who refer to themselves in the third person should have their hands tied behind their back and be hit in the face with a hammer, no offense to you though lol
Who cares about his attitude? Talent is all that matters as far as boxing is concerned, and Zab has more of it than any fighter in the world today.

I have to say that I have never been a Judah fan, but he really impressed me with the way he handled Spinxs' antics before the fight, as well as Spinx running a marathon for the first six or seven rounds, making it very difficult for Zab to do much. After the fight, to me he was the most mature I've ever seen him, we'll just have to see...
judah was very immature back then......still is.......but back then he was in denial in his first loss ever...he didnt know how to take it and as a true fighter he wanted to continue....his acts after the stoppage are not excusable but he was just in denial about the outcome
Didn't he once say something about winning 100 straight and being undefeated and undefeatable?
I wonder how thankful his dad/trainer is that they stopped that Kostya Tszyu fight, because Judah would have tasted some real heat if it would have went on..
2 things what attitude prior to this fight are you talking about? and you said he is full of potential but always busts like a bubble, but this time he actually won a big fight.
I wasnt specifying any comments for the promotion of this fight but for his past fights.
Sure Zab might have won this fight but he always seems to be on the up and up and then that is when his ego kicks in and he gets the "I cant be touched" attitude and that is when he ends up on the short end of the stick. This is a reoccuring thing for Judah and I wont make a final judgement until he defens his belt and see how he reacts, From the photos of the post press conference it looked like the ego was in full force, but I will have to watch the tape of it.
Had he not disrespected the boxing community with his antics after the Tszyu fight and his attitude prior to this fight many people wouldnt have this outlook. Im not a fan of zab and never will be, but the guy possesses some boxing skills he is quick and powerful. I wont disrespect the man but he is full of potential but always busts the bubble. He is humble coming up and his ego kicks in on top and that is his demise, I will never change my outlook on Zab but will continue to watch his fights out of respect.

I'll have to agree. I don't see much hope for him becoming more of a fan favorite. People will always call him a thug, scumbag etc. Oh and yes, the chicken dance will always come up one way or another. It's too bad really. Last night I was impressed with everything he did in the ring and after the match as well.
