I can't see this fight happening. And if it did happen, I don't give Roy much of a chance against Toney. I'm not gonna say Roy's been knocked out twice in a row due to "lack of focus". I find it hard to imagine being in a sport where someone is putting in so much effort to do you serious physical harm and not be focused. It just doesn't seem realistic to me, or rather it seems naive on the part of Roy Jones as to what his situation really is when he's in that ring. Because if it is a lack of concentration then he certainly didn't learn anything when Tarver knocked him out, and he seemed much more active and focused then compared to when he fought Johnson.
If a miracle happens and Jones does decide to continue his career and Toney grabs a good belt at heavyweight and Jones takes it from him. There will be an option to face Tarver at heavyweight open to him. I think no matter if Tarver wins or lose his rematch against Glen Johnson, he's going to Heavyweight, if it's a decision again, though..there will be a rubber-match, but if he knocks 'em out, there won't be.
u got a big imagnation..ur talking about a bunch of guys dam near 40
When and If JT gets a belt, look for a RJ Vs JT II.
Roy said on BDSS that JT was the best HW out there.
I'm tipping RJ again!
YOU'RE DREAMING..............JONES IS NEVER STEPPING IN A RING AGAIN TO FIGHT. HE's DONE!! I'M GALD BECAUSE I WAS SICK OF THAT I TALK IN THIRD PERSON MORON.
I like RJJ and although he did suffer 2 KOs I think it might just be a lack of focus. If RJJ was to really get back out there and apply himself and actually give a shit about the fight, he would come out on top. His last 2 fights he looked like shit. He didn't look like he even wanted to fight. Sure Roy talks but that still dosn't mean his heart is in it. IMHO I think if he really wanted it Roy would dominate. 2 Fights cause his head wasn't in it isn't really excusable but it is still not enough reason to count him out. He did the right thing by stepping aside after admitting his heart wasn't in it.
Unlike Holyfield who just won't quit and gets his ass beat and looks like shit. He needs to stop or he is going to get killed.
Maybe I give Roy too much credit but thats just where I stand.

Jones needs to fight some mailmen and other goofballs before thinking about stepping in against Tarver, Johnson or Toney. It is a wishful thought, but Roy need to stay behind the table with Ledderman and Lampley.
toney would beat roy jones easily today...but the roy who fought john ruiz would beat the hell out of toney being that toney is a standing target
Roy Jones was in amazing shape for the Ruiz fight. I still think Toney and Roy at heavy at that point would have been a even fight.
I'd like to see Jones take on a bottom top 10 LTHeavy to see where he's at and then challenge Johnson-Tarver.
I think he should stay retired and keep his record respectable. He's past his best now. It's a shame but the truth.
I'm a huge Roy fan but if this was to take place now i would seriously fear for his health. If Glen Johnson and Tarver beat him James Toney would end him for good.
Is sure hope that Roy Jones Jr. doesn't come back against anyone. It would prove nothing win or lose and I would hate for him to take the risk or being seriously injured.
Now Toney is bigger and stronger and Roy is slower and his reflexes have vanished. He would get hurt real bad by Toney. This is coming from one of Roys biggest fans.
I'm a big fan of Roy Jones Jr., in his 16years of professional career he won all in middleweight, supermiddleweight, light heavyweight and the John Ruiz's wba crown in 2003. He was a teacher of agility and combination. He has great speed and elegance in his movements in the ring. In the past won a battle with good boxer: Bernard Hopkins and James Toney. For me is the best p4p ever. But today he's 35 and he should have to retire. That said Floydmayweather is right!
lets hope not toney would really hurt jones jr
Thats for sure a prime Jones made Toney look like a bum. Now Toney is bigger and stronger and Roy is slower and his reflexes have vanished. He would get hurt real bad by Toney. This is coming from one of Roys biggest fans.
