PacMan MarqueZ That is easily the fight of the year JMM down 3 times inthe first round, comes back, alltougth i think he should have gotten the win. and the Draw just took something of it.

Edourd/Gibbs and Pemberton/Sheika were great... it has not been mentioned and probably was not the fight of the year but in my mind it was the most brutal fight of the year which was JL Castillo v. Juan Lazcano...Lazcano has not fought since and may never be the same.

Pemperton vs Shieka 2 was also a great fight, both guys get dropped and round 6 was crazy.

How can it be the fight of the year when it was a horrible performance on the part of both men involved? Pacquiao did nothing outside of round 1, and in round 1 Marquez got put on his ass THREE TIMES! Horrible effort by both men To get floored 3 times in the first round and outbox your opponent for the next 11 rounds is not what i would call a horrible effort.

Fight of The Year ..... maybe Lacy/Sheika Trinidad/Mayorga Pacquiao/Marquez Barrera/Morales3 This an impressive list, but the misfit is Trinidad-Mayorga, which simply was a mismatch. It was treat for Trinidad fans to watch their guy against an opponent that literally stood in front of him all night long. Truly, that match-up could never be considered as Fight of The Year, unless you like watching one guy totally out-class another and then beat him down? Trinidad was expected to win that fight, despite all the hype around the long layoff. Mayorga was dangerous early, and he always is, but there was no way a conditioned Trinidad was going to lose that fight.

To me Trinidad v Mayorga and Morales v Barrera were one sided fights. I'd vote for MAB-Morales III, because it is exactly what the fight game is all about (or, should be). No glamourous KO, no one-sided decision, just two very skilled and hearty fighters mixing it up for 12 full rounds. Never heard it said that MAB-Morales II was one-sided, until this post. I saw it very differently, alot like the judges actually. Partly why it gets my vote for Fight of The Year 2004.

Trinidad vs Mayorga in my book.

To me Trinidad v Mayorga and Morales v Barrera were one sided fights. Trinidad and Barrera won and it wasnt close. Jirov V Mesi was a complete brawl where Jirov almost pulled off an amazing comeback. If Pacman v JMM won though that wouldnt bother me.

What about Trinidad vs. Mayorga? It was a one sided fight, Mayorga stood no chance and showed that. Trinidad completely took everything away from Mayorga. Im looking for competition in a fight of the year candidate.

Has Ring Magazine chosen their fight of the year yet? Barrera/Morales III was amazing, i dont care what anyone says. JMM/Pacman was a classic as well. No way Mesi/Jirov was fight of the year. It was very entertaining, but it was not fight of the year.
