Does anyone else get the impression that Merchant doesn't like Jones? He's always correcting him and pointing out rebuttals. I wonder if he never liked Roy in the first place.
Why do people call Merchant a drunk?
I've always wondered this myself, perhaps because of his attitude resembles one.
I have full proof that Larry is No drunk, When I went to the ppv they with Spadafora in Chester wv in 2003, I met larry inside the casino and sat around the announcing table and he didnt have anything. When I saw him in the casino's lounge he didnt have an alcoholic beverage at all either and I spoke with him a few minutes and he sounds exactly like he does on television and no alcohol in his sight.
Then when I went to the Spadafora vs Dorin fight, I was at a local pub and Larry was their and he was sitting down to milk with steak and potatoes, once again no alcohol insight. Then at the time of the fight, I was ringside (right behind the camera man when the crew do their usual analysis for the main event and the only drink Larry had was a water bottle (hold off on the vodka jokes) Larry had gotten the bottle from the cornerman of Dorins and he had opened it.
In my 2 experiences in meeting and seeing Larry, a drink was never insight and he is exactly the same way in person as he is on tv.
hmm
No one here really knows whether or not he lies or dislikes Roy, but Larry does come off as prickish sometimes in my opinion. He jabs Roy just a little too much in some cases, but still I don't think arry HATES Roy and Roy can certainly handle Larry's old ass.
They're the best crew and not because they "suck the least".
On a side note, what does is everyone's favorite Larry analogy or comment? I loved the mayweather comment about fighting women. I know I have heard some better ones but I can't remember them.
Nah. The Ring said that the excuse he gave was valid though. He never actually used steroids. I may be able to find that issue. Private message me if you're interested.
i think it was something to do with a nasal spray, the richard hall fight, and some kind of cover up, but i'm not sure.
Does anyone have a link to a good article about Roy testing positive for roids? I have a friend that seems to think this didnt happen when it really did.

Merchant hates him. It's almost funny. It's kinda frustrating to listen to Roy, because although he says some very insightful things, he also suffers from a condition called Logos Enormia Irrelevencia. Those infected mispronounce big words that don't pertain to the subject on which they're speaking in an effort to sound more intelligent than they are. Actually, a lotta guys on this site have the same problem.
i think roy adn larry r friends he just cracks on him i bet u all if larry was some 30ish guy liek roy u wouldnt find anythign wrong if they punk on eachother its just cause larry is an old white guy and roy is a 30yr old cocky boxer that u all seem to think he hates him

Larry was wylin out at the mayweather fight.

In my opinion, Merchant corrects any third wheel. He likes Lampley, but he's corrected both George and Roy. I haven't watched that many fights where Manny Stewart was commentating, but he probably corrects him too (that is if Manny doesn't correct himself, first.)

Merchant has an ego problem, he can't help correcting Jones. Jones is not exactly Howard Cossell.
