Naz deserves a lot more respect just look at his record won 36 (31 ko's) - lost 1 - drawn 0,
Won 3 different world titles.
yes he is arrogant cocky etc but that made him the fighter he was.
He had a Psychological advantage over his opponents he tried to get his opponents beaten before they entered the ring. With things he said in the press conferences making his opponents wait in the ring. He tried to get opponents angry so they would come forward and throw punches which a lot did which suited naz.
He had everything power, speed, a good chin (most knockdowns he was off balance never hurt). He also entertained everyone. He filled stadiums in Britain before his opponents were announced beacause he was a great fighter, but when he came to America people wanted him to lose as soon as he got there, people in america wanted him to fail.
The thing what annoys me is people couldn't wait for him to lose and then start slagging him off, but when he did lose he was No 1 in the world and got beat by a great boxer MAB no shame in that look at MAB record he just outboxed Naz on the night.
People can't just dislike him because he was arrogant people seem to like Mayorga, Judah, Hopkins, Mayweather or is it beacause he was an arrogant british fighter coming to America challenging american fighters in there own backyard such as Kevin Kelley and beating him. You lot slag Hatton, Calzaghe etc off for not fighting in america but you dont give any repsect to british fighters who do come to America Naz, Collins, Lewis etc.
Have you Americans got problems with good British fighters? Especially Naz?
I was pretty pissed when i watched Barrera use rough tactic on Naz, but as the fight went on i ended up being more pissed at Naz for letting him do it!!
Naz didnt exactly man up and give him some back, remember Naz was seen to be the stronger guy with a bigger punch before the fight.
He got what was coming to him when Barrera rammed him against the corner and made him his bitch. In my opinion most people felt that way.
Who the hell do you think Kevin Kelley was? He beat an undefeated Morales.
Gotta love uneducated opinions.
Kevin Kelly LOST to Erik Morales, in 2000.
That was the only time they fought.
Kelly was NOT in his prime when Hamed beat him.
He had been thrashed by Alejandro Gonzalez, needed a one-punch KO to save him from a TKO loss to gainer, & had struggled horribly with journeymen in between the Gonzalez & Hamed fights.
Hamed was a coward...the only world class fighter he fought in Barrera,

I just love the way the americans have a go at Naz but he KO'd their top 2 featherweights, 1 of them in their own backyard :)
Exactly what top two featherweights are you referring to?
Hamed was a coward...the only world class fighter he fought in Barrera, he got his ass whipped and suddenly disappeared.Looks like he cant back up his big mouth with heart...i sure hope he comes back and faces the PACMAN...He will surely get an ass beating double of what MAB did to him!!
The question lies in where and how you give out respect.
I tend to give more respect to someone who is respectful of others, who is a sportsman, with good conduct, who isn't arrogant or pompous, and who treats others good.
His attitude may have been in question, which might make some (like me) respect him less, right or wrong.
but as far as ring respect, I doubt anyone can challenge him being a great boxer, at least not with any solid proof.
:D VK also hasn't been KO'd in any professional or ameture kickboxing or boxing :D

Barrera only did that because he was acting like a frustrated little boy. Naseem landed a HUGE left hook in a semi-clinch that pissed Marco off right before he did this.
Naseem Hamed no matter what any americans our Muslim haters say. Was one of the best bantamweight, super-Bantamweight, and at Featherweight one of the greatest of all time. He has never been given credit for becoming the undisputed Featherweight champion. Tom Johnson was IBF Champion, Israel Vasquez WBA Featherweight chammpion (who later fought Juan Lacazno (a lightweight who fought for the world title last year), Cesar Soto WBC champion.
They all talk about Hopkins holding four titles. If it was not for politics he would have all the titles at the same time.
everybody loses and I would rather him sit out for a couple of years o retire but he will come back may never be the same a bit like Roy Jones. But one thing he can say that not a lot of fighters can HE WAS KNOCKED KNOCKED OUT just ask the greatest fighters of our time
Lennox Lewis (twice)
Roy Jones (twice)
Oscar De La Hoya (body shot)
Terry Norris
Azumah Nelson (yes he got stopped by Sanchez) he even ducked Hamed
I can go on but am sure u understand facts are facts
tried to +k rudy for this but I have given out too much reputation in the last 24 hours ;-)

he was a decent fighter with a lot of flash. He proved what kind of man he was when MAB whooped him. He deserves little if any respect!

LOL :D
Naz had some skills but he took that defeat like a bitch, getting beat in boxing isnt too bad but letting Barrera rough him up made me lose a lot of my respect
unlike a lot of people on here, UK hate is not my thing. lewis was a great champ, eubanks a awesome one and tito trinidad is my favorite (j/k) ... and nigel to me was THE man. its just being taken for a straight BITCH, like how it happened to naz, then to fall off the face of the earth. his shit talk was unparalleled, so it was just that his bark was louder than his bite and yeah, not because he fronted islam, not because he was from the UK, it was basically becasue he got bitched by a mexican.
simple as that. had that happened to a puerto rican, he'd be just as hated.
alas, a smart one from across the pond who can sympathize as to what we americans feel about naz.
(we'll just pretend for this once that you're not a raving hatton fan, and i'm not a raving cotto fan)
LOL :D

I personally don't like European fighters, especially english ones. Fighters like Ricky Hatton, Lennox Lewis, and Scott Harrison make me sick, although I do respect Lewis. But The Prince was simply too cool. He was the coolest fighter since Muhammad Ali, and he had some skill. He was an amazing puncher, had blinding speed, and a good chin. He kept coming in the Barrera fight, and never gave up hope. He was not the greatest fighter of all time, but he was entertaining and exciting. I think people should view him like Gatti, his show was the attraction.
Not that UK hate bullshit again Asian, i dont undersatnd the issue but i assume its the "world revolves around the US" thing a lot of people have.
Naz deserves more respect for his fighting ability but to let Barrera retire him up is lame, unless Naz comes back and does things he will never have any real respect.
